Jack's mommy |
According to the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, here's how much sleep children need (including naps):
Infants (up to 11 months): 14 to 15 hours Toddlers: 12 to 14 hours Preschoolers: 11 to 13 hours School-age children: 10 to 11 hours Jack is 16 months old and gets about 12 hours a day, including his one 90 minute nap per day. So I guess we're on track. ![]() |

Highschoolers need a lot more than many people think, too.
They actually need more than adults (I think I read they need about 10 hours? Not sure exactly...) yet most of them (as those of us with teens know) tend to get WAY less sleep than most adults. No wonder so many fall asleep in class! |

PS - up until a few months ago, my LO regularly got around 13 to 14 total hours of sleep.
He's (gradually) cutting out the nap these days, though, and is now getting just about 12 hours of sleep each night. |
