My lo has ALWAYS been a great sleeper- comfortable in his own bed. Now that he can climb out of his crib, he is getting out every time he wakes, when before, he would just put himself back to sleep. I'm at a loss for what to do because I don't want this to become a habit but I'm afraid it already is! Any ideas? I was wondering if we should go ahead and turn his crib into a "big-boy bed" but I didn't want it to become worse. ?
Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!

The first time my daughter got out of her crib, she landed hard on the floor and didn't try again for 2 months. When she started doing it again -- and with more finesse -- it was time for the "big girl's bed." She was 2 at the time. The timing worked out well because "little sister" was on the way, and she needed to vacate the crib soon anyway.

I slept on the floor in my son's room for a couple of nights and just redeposited him back into the bed immediately. He quit getting out of bed after a couple of nights.

Thanks so much for your imput. I think I'll try sleeping in his room on the floor for a bit. (I was sleeping right outside his door some- I think it will work out better if I don't let him actually "wake" much, and can catch him while he is stirring.)
Thanks again for your replies and advice. It's so nice to have this site up!

Another suggestion I've heard (we're not there yet, so I haven't had to try it) is getting a crib tent to go over the top of the crib. That might deter him from trying to climb out (and save you from sleeping on the floor)!
