Hey, I have a 5 year old daughter who is in Kindergarten. She goes to bed around 8:00pm (but lays in there humming or talking to herself till around 8:30 or 9:00pm) and then has to wake up for school around 6:30am. She is tired to the point that she dozes off on the ride home from school each day at 3:30pm-ish. Is that enough sleep? How much are your school age kids getting? I would think mine would nod off laying there in bed each night, but she continues to hum and talk for a while. ???? Is she still adjusting to a busy school day? Any advice?
I don't have a lot of info, so you'll want to do some research, but I have heard that a lot of people who have difficulty falling asleep at night - both children and adults - are helped tremendously by a small dose of melatonin. It's all natural, and safe.
It's basically the same effect as sitting out in the sun for 30 minutes - you know how that calms you down and makes you sleepy? It's from the natural melatonin.
Anyway, I have 2 friends who had this same issue with their young, school aged children. They had a hard time winding down and falling asleep at night. they have seen drastic improvements.
good luck!

Any clue where to get the melatonin? Is it just a pharmacy or health store item? That sounds interesting to me. I have a 3 year old that can use some "wind down" help as well.
