Jack's mommy |
Why are babies not like us?
If we go to bed later, we sleep in, right? Not my child. How about yours? Jack went to bed rather late last night. Yet, was up earlier than ever! Before 6! Oh, I dream of him sleeping until 7 or 7:30. If he ever slept until 8 again I'd do a dance of joy (after freaking out at first and running to his room to make sure he's OK - LOL) ![]() ![]() |

Same with my girls - the later to bed, the earlier to rise.
I have read many times that sleep begets sleep, and I guess it is true. Sucks though, doesn't it???? No matter how much I KNOW this will happen, I still convince myself, when they are up late, that MAYBE they will sleep in ... just once. |

Mine actually do sleep a bit later if they're up later, but mine don't get up all that early anyway, so there's no incentive for me to keep them up or anything - they just get cranky and hard to deal with.
I, on the other hand, unlike what you said Kristi, can't sleep in no matter what time I go to bed. If I don't have breakfast by 7:30 or so my whole day is messed up, no matter how late I was up. Perhaps that's why I really don't stay up late anymore! |

My lo usually sleeps until between 8-9 in the morning, but he doesn't go down until around 10-10:30 at night. I used to sleep late but now I get up early just to get a little quiet time to myself. Funny thing though, whenever my dh goes to work early, the next day my lo will wake up at 7 just to make sure Daddy doesn't leave without seeing him lol.
Strange thing is, I remember when I was pregnant my lo kept the same hours basically, he would be really still and sleeping until 8 or 9 in the morning, do his gymnastics all day with occasional breaks, then we'd call it a night and he'd settle down around 10-11 at night. |
