I can't wait to be able to take Jack to the movies. I daydream about us sitting through Disney movies together on a rainy afternoon. Big sigh. That won't happen for a long time since he is only 1.
But I found these tips interesting. If you are wondering when you can start taking kids to the movies and are looking for some tips to make the experience as stress free as possible, here you go.
Side note: my nephew is 5 and still hates the movies. He says it's too loud and it scares him. So for my brother, the daydream continues. LOL.
We took Anabelle to her first movie at around 15 months and she did GREAT. I can't remember what it was - Ice Age maybe? We also took her to see OVer the Hedge pretty young. We never had any problems with her as long as it was an animated movie and we plied her with LOTS of snacks.
I don't think it will be so easy with Amelia though - she will NOT sit still for anything and hates to be in my lap. She just always wants to be on the go. So. I think our movie days are over for a little while.
We're even getting a babysitter for Amelia when we go to all the gymnastics meets with Anabelle this season. It's so funny how different each child can be!

Wow. My baby is three and we haven't even thought about taking him to a movie yet. I don't know how well he'd do in a dark crowded room with a big loud movie, and I'm almost positive he wouldn't be able to sit still. But it does sound like an exciting thing to try. Can anyone recommend any movies that are out now or are coming out soon?

My 5 year old did great at the movies since she was 2.5 and is mesmorized by any movie, home or theatre. My 3 year old has NEVER sat still a moment in her life to enjoy a movie home or away. She watches a few moments as she whizes by doing stuff.
