What were your favorite games as a child? What brings back warm fuzzy memories for you?
For me, it's: cards - rummy, solitaire, scat, you name it. My grandmother taught me many games and I have wonderful memories of playing with her. Monopoly - one summer my friend and I were obsessed and played this game nearly every day Candy Land - did anyone NOT grow up with this one? Chutes and Ladders - again, anyone NOT play this? Life - is this one still around? Battleship - my brother used to play this with me all the time Hungry Hungry Hippo - so much fun! Operation - the buzzer used to scare me but I loved it. Today they have a Spiderman one that my nephew loves. ![]() |

I loved to play Candyland when I was little. Actually I still play it with my oldest now. We bought him Operation and the buzzer isnt as loud as it was before. I remember it always making me jump when I touched the metal when it went off but that game isnt what it used to be, wish I could find an old one.

Do made up games count? Me and my sister used to play "Hot Lava" all the time. How the game works is that the floor is hot lava and you CAN NOT touch any part of your body to it at all or you fry up. You have to crawl around the room on top of furniture and rugs and cushions. If you do hit the lava, the other person wins and gets to eat you. Ahhhhhhhhh what memories.

GHMom, my kids play hot lava! I have no idea where they got it from - I had never played it or even heard of it before, but they love to do that.
When i was a kid I loved Candyland, Life, Clue, Monopoly and all car games, including solitaire. |
