So the pregnant man finally gave birth. His daughter is beautiful.
What do you think of this family dynamic?

Honestly, I don't see what the big deal is. If he was born a boy, yeah HUGE deal,. But he is a post operative transsexual who opted to keep his reproductive parts. So Nature wise he is a woman. Why shouldn't he be able to give birth with a uterus still in tact.

There may be something I am missing.

My only gripe about the whole situation is that they keep referring to him as a man - when clearly he is not. If she really wanted to be a man I don't understand why she felt the need to keep her reproductive organs. Part of being a man means that you cannot carry a child and give birth. If she was so convinced that she was born the wrong sex and wanted to have the surgery to change it, she should have gone all the way.

This is just MHO - I know that there are others out there who feel the other way and I totally respect their viewpoint.

I also feel sorry for the poor little girl. Even though the couple says that they are going to raise her in a traditional way, one day they will have to explain why "daddy" gave birth to her.

I completely agree, GG, she is not a man yet. Granted, she is living with a man... but a man has a penis and she does not have that yet.

I just hate that this became such a big deal... when I first heard about the "pregnant man" I was really excited because I thought they had come up with some really awesome new scientific breakthrough.

I agree with GG also. When I first heard about the pregnant man I was really interested in finding out just how this could happen (and could it be that a man can carry a child?) but then when I found out that it was a Transgender man with his reproductive organs still intact it's like... what's the big deal? To me, it's not really a man giving birth, it's a woman.

Wow, did you read to the end of the article that "his" "wife" is breastfeeding the baby?

Yeah, "induced lactation."
It sounds like with a combination of drugs and pumping you can make milk happen.
I have one thing to say about the dry pumping - YOUCH!!!!!!!!
