First of all, I DID NOT VOTE THIS WEEK. I don't want to repeat that disaster. Everybody except Syesha and David C sang terrible to so-so versions of Neil Daiamond. It did not suit David A well at all. I was surprised, b/c one might think that this genre would be good for Jason, but he was pretty flat.
I HOPE that Syesha doesn't go home. I WISH that Jason would go home. I THINK that Brooke will go home. |

Is it just me, or has the David A. charm worn off a little bit? He seems to be struggling. I personally have a hard time listening/watching a 16 year old sing songs when he has no clue what he is singing about. He has no real life experience, so he can't feel anything about the song. He has a wonderful voice, I just wish he understood what he is singing about.
I am sooooo sick of Jason. I fast-forwarded through his song after I heard him start whispering through it again. I want to hear him really sing out just once. I agree with you FM that Syesha and David C did the best with it. I really like that David C makes every song his own, and he does a really good job at it. Guess that comes from being in a band and writing music. I think Brooke or Jason gets the ax. Although it seems Simon has alot of sway with the voters so Syesha may be in trouble. I sure hope not. |

I struggled through watching it last night - and I LOVE Neil Diamond!
The only bright spot of the night for me was David C. He was so smart to pick little known songs and make them his own. You can't compare what you don't know. Brooke....UGH!! "I'm a Believer"? Seriously? She looked so uncomfortable up there - and it wasn't much more comfortable watching her either. PLEASE tell me that she goes home!! Jason managed to whisper through a song one more time - yea! David A. did an ok job at trying to mix the songs up a little - but I agree with Ronaldsmom about the charm wearing off and not having the life experiences behind the songs. I mean we're not all living rock star lives - but he's not even putting feeling behind them. Syesha did a good job. They hit the nail on the head again when they said she would be great on a Broadway stage. She really would. |

Ok, ladies, WHY are we not talking about PAULA yet????
I know she is always high as a kite, but she was in fine form last night. I seriously had to cover my eyes and look away in embarassment after her HUGE HUGE HUGE flub. OMG. It was so mortifying. And Randy and Simon tried to help her recover, and Ryan was looking off stage to see if he was supposed to say anything, and it was all just so awkward. Speaking of awkward .... BROOKE and JASON. OMG. Are they in a competition to see who can suck worse every week???? I'm a Believer??? REALLY???? Why would you choose that? Her second song was much better, but only marginally. She can go home tonight and I'll be very happy. Jason's first song was tolerable I thought. Not good, but it didn't make me cringe. His second song though .... I had to fast forward. I get horribly embarassed when they screw up that bad. I thought David C was the best as always. It wasn't even my favorite night for him though, and I love him. I thought his second song was great. But I thought in his first song he was sounding a bit too much like Creed, and it grated on my nerves just a tiny bit. Doesn't matter though - he's light years beyond any of the others. I really liked Syesha last night. I hope she doesn't go home. It would be a real shame if she went home before Jason or Brooke. David A. Hmm. I really thought he would have done great with Neil Diamond songs. I was very surprised. I mean, I thought he did well, and I'm sure he's safe, but he didn't put near as much emotion or effort into singing them that I thought he would have. |

Paula CLAIMS that she never drinks alcohol or does any drugs. I hate to think that she is that stupid without outside help. Please, I'd rather her be on drugs.
Agree with the others... David A is losing his charm. I almost said this in my last post: It wouldn't surprise me if the bottom 2 this week are Brooke and David. I don't think he has the automatic safe status that he used to. And, it seems like the closer to the end, it is more of a popularity contest than ever. It was, IMO, the worst show so far. I think I have said that already this season... there really hasn't been many great shows. I keep thinking about the kid who lived out of his car that didn't make it past hollywood week. They are probably kicking themselves for that mistake. He seemed better than a lot of these contestants. |

Well let me add my 2 cents.
I really don't like Brooke. She really has a smug attitude that I can't stand so it wouldn't matter what she sounded like with a personality like hers. (and seriously folks, even Donkey did a better job with that song). I do not like David A. He has a future on a cruise ship lounge someday. After watching an expose on how he's been in the circuit since he was a smaller kid (another talent search show and so on), it makes you wonder what his motive is..and if he were so great then why didn't he "make it" from the other tv shows he has done. Syesha is a good singer but kinda plain, like every other cover type singer. Jason will be a good lounge singer on a beach somewhere. And I really really want to see them do something with that hair. I think dreadlocks went out before he was born. David Cook is really good. He may be smart and get out of the competition before the end so he can be free to make a record that will actually sell, unlike the Idol winners who are stuck with a contract. Last but not least..Paula, Paula, Paula. Please seek help. I really like her but dang, how long will Idol keep putting up with her? She needs a stint in rehab before next season. <<stepping of soapbox now>> |

Ok, y'all, like last week, I missed last night's show, but unlike last week, I don't plan on catching the performances on YouTube! Y'all have convinced me it wasn't good enough to merit the time and effort. I did see Paula on Perez Hilton this morning, though, and that was pretty bad. She's been goofy like that before in public, and while she says she doesn't drink or take illegal drugs, hasn't she said also that she has some kind of chronic (pain I think) condition and requires medication? And of course, no one ever abuses prescription medication...

Yea! Someone else who reads PerezHilton! I love it!

Oh yes, GoodGolly, I start my day with the Tuscaloosanews.com and Perez Hilton! I have my priorities straight. LOL.

Paula Abdul's 3 personalities on the show:
1. - yeah - everyone is a superstar with wonderful colors to their voices and such originals!! 2. - Long drawn out critiques that won't end until Simon just jumps in and begins his turn, all the while clapping. 3. - Jibber jabber, obscure reference, an elbow to Simon and a dazed look. With that - - I predict the 2 David's in the finale! Come on Cook! ![]() |

I didn't see the performances, but Brooke was already past her peak, I think.
Anybody know what next week's theme is? |
