Do you watch this show (TLC)? I have started watching it and it is fun to see the differences in personalities w/in the same household. I couldn't imagine having 6 babies. Sometimes, I think Kate can be a little over the top!

I started watching it a few months ago, when I discovered my preschooler is the same age as the sextuplets.
I just can't imagine having six little three-year-olds running around, so it's amazing to watch how they deal with that. But I agree that Kate's a little over-the-top. And I feel sorry for the two older girls. |

Yeah, did you see what Kate did when one of the boys got gum or something on his stuffed animal? That was sooo over the top!!
But it is nice that they're not trying to hide the rough spots. I'd be yelling a lot if I had all those preschoolers, too. Probably a lot more than Kate does, actually. |

amd omg yes the gum on the bear was horruble! poor little guy was breaking my heart! I would've been sooo mad if she had thrown that away!! Niki, wife to Thatcher, mommy to Jacob(5), Alex(3), and Alyssa(11mts) |

Yeah, you should see my LO's ratty old "Bunny." I'd never even think of threatening to take that away from him. That's just cruel!
But I've had my grouchy moments, so I'll forgive her. But just this once! I hope it's a new one tonight. |

Did anyone see them on Oprah?

I do not watch Oprah
Kate does a great job being the drill sergeant. With that many kids, I guess you have to be firm and very structured. But, somethimes I just feel sorry for poor Jon. She treats him like a kid--or worse. |

OMG! I just watched the latest episode, & I can't believe how eager those kids were to do chores!
Mine will do nothing, even when I try to make it into a game (well, he has made his bed twice & once put away all of his tinkertoys when I said it was a contest...) On the other hand, I just realized that those tots are still using highchairs. And I know they were preemies & small & all that, but mine has wanted to sit in "big boy" chairs for almost two years now (and he's 3.5) & we got rid of the highchair when he was 1.5 & the booster by the time he was 2. I was also surprised at the bibs. I know Kate is a neatfreak, but Wow! Do those of you with preschoolers still get them to wear bibs? Because mine won't do it (and really doesn't need to ... he's no messier than his father! |

DM, I don't watch the show, but to answer you question about bibs - no. I can't remember when my 3.5 yo last wore a bib, but I think it was around the time I stopped feeding her with a spoon and she started feeding herself. And, like you, I think she's been out of the high chair for at least 2 years.

My take on highchairs and bibs. With one LO, we don't use the highchair a lot or bibs. In my personal experience, when you have more than one toddler (mine were 14mos apart), it is easier to manage them with these things.
Often (3-4 days a week) in the summer, I would have my two plus a neice and a cousin. There would be four kids w/in 14 months of age... mine were the oldest and the youngest. (And I did this voluntarily....am I crazy?) Since they were together a lot, I had booster seats for all of them and bibs. The bibs stopped around age 3. (Although I kept a couple for special occasions when I didnt want an outfit ruined right before we needed to leave.) I guess what I'm getting at is that if I had to risk changeing six outfits after each meal, I'd use bibs till they were teenagers! LOL With one, if he gets food on him (IF...haha), it's almost as easy to just put on another shirt. The booster seats remained until they were 5-6. It is hard for me to tolerate a child getting up and down 20 times during a meal... or half sitting on the edge of the chair, half standing. Multipy times six.... ugh! Even the ones who normally (at home) would never sit still for dinner, always stayed in the booster. |

Yeah, did you watch last night, Pookie? He looked so ragged and worn down, especially during the interviews! |
