Who else has been following the writer's strike in Hollywood?
Do you think the writers deserve more money? Are you tired of seeing re-runs or do you support the cause?

(And...thanks DistractedMom. My mommy brain is mush today). Wink

He refused to cross the picket line. I think that means he supports the writers, right?

no problem!
And I loooove the office. Those writers are geniuses & deserve every penny they can get!
I'm not sure about some other shows, though. And, actually, it is true that all of Hollywood is ridiculously overpaid compared to the rest of us - and it's not like they're out there saving lives or anything.
We all deserve a big raise, you know? Especially us moms!!!

Yes! I support the writers (very much so) but am also desperately hoping it ends soon, so I can try to see a live taping of the Daily Show in New York later this month... (I miss my daily dose of Jon Stewart terribly!) In general, I think the producers are being ridiculous... If they really thought there was no money to be made in online media, they wouldn't be so against sharing a cut of the online profits with the writers.

Oh, I hope you get to see a taping too! I surprised my husband for his 30th birthday and took him to a live taping of the Daily Show. He loves that show. It was so much fun! Jon Stewart is a riot. We didn't get a picture with Jon but we did get one with Mo Rocca.

I am so jealous you got to go to a taping! I just heard on the radio that the strike is basically at a standstill. sigh. But I won't give up hope...

These Late Night shows with Jay Leno from 15 years ago are killing me...
It's actually pretty amusing seeing him with dark hair and seeing how young all the stars look....

Sadly, I haven't noticed a difference around my house. Coming and goings lately around here don't give time for TV so ignorance is bliss in my case. This coming from a girl who watches "Sex in the City" in reruns on TBS and finds them new episodes!

Well, The Golden Globes ceremony is canceled. Anyone else disappointed about this? I love watching award shows. Bummer. But I do support the writers and admire the actors who were going to sit out the ceremony to support them. George Clooney was one of them.
Hopefully they'll get this all straightened out before the Oscars!

Did you see the miserable excuse of an award show for the People's Choice. Now that was lame! I support the writers too - I WELL KNOW what it is like to be the brains behind the hoopla and get the shaft!

That was the weirdest awards show I've ever seen. Actually, awards "press conference." Two people standing at a podium reading the Golden Globe winners. So strange.
Will this be the way actors win an Oscar this year?

Yeah, not even any dresses to talk about. What a bummer. I hope it gets resolved soon.
