Here's a story about the city's school calendar for 2008-09. It looks like half-days will be affected.

As a parent, I'd rather not have half days. I know all the kids love them!
 They are very inconvenient moms, though. Today, b/c of certain exam scheduling, my son got out at 9:30. I really think he could have taken that test yesterday and gotten it all over with. |
