So Jack opened the front door yesterday. And my mouth dropped open. Then I ran right to Walmart and bought those plastic thingies you put over the knobs.
I didn't think he'd be doing that for a while!

LOL! We've got those little hook-&-eye latch thingies on the tops of all the doors that lead outside now... better stock up, it won't be long!!

Yeah, none of my doors have traditional round knobs. Some are easier, some harder to open. As long as I keep them locked, we're ok. I want to get those locks that you find on hotel doors. (Is that what you have DM?) Up high! But with those, I wonder how long it would take for him to learn how to open it with a broomstick or something?

Ronald has been opening our lever handle doors for 4 or 5 months now. We have to keep the deadbolts locked (they are outside doors). I already have a couple of the round knob covers on doors he really doesn't need to go through (office door with computer and bookshelves). I know it is only a matter of time though before he figures everything out.

Hey DM, Where did you get those?

Most kids probably wouldn't try to open them. I had a cousin that was an escape artist... they couldn't keep him in the house half the time! LOL

We just use those little $2 "hook & eye" type latches, FM. Hubby got them at the hardware dept in Walmart, so you could find them anywhere, I'm sure.
We also have the little sliding bolt-type locks on the tops of a couple of our doors.
I'm really not sure what either lock is actually called, and my LO could probably snap them right off if he pulled hard enough. But it's worked so far!
