Jack's mommy |
According to this article, couples may soon be able to order what gender baby they want.
It's already being done through a method called MicroSort. If the FDA approves this method, couples will be able to select the sex of their child (for a lofty price, of course). It's being called "family balancing." Our nation's medical organizations are divided on the issue. This was a really interesting read. Check out both sides of the issue in the story below. Do you think we should be able to select our child's gender? http://www.parents.com/parents/story.jsp?page=1&storyid...ta/1151006389425.xml ![]() |

Very interesting, but not surprising, read. Personally, I understand an individual's or couple's want to have at least one baby of each gender. A lot of couples will keep trying until they get that girl/boy. (Even though they love ALL their children) You wonder how it would affect the sibling's perception of mom and dad paying to get the baby the "really" wanted, but it is not that much different than the siblings hearing about mom and dad kept having babies until they finally had that "one". This way, the sibling(s) might not even be aware.
