We've seen a lot of family in the past week. And they all have one question for us: so when are you having #2? Does anyone else get tired of everyone asking this? It's like, just enjoy #1 please! And we'll figure that all out and get back to you!
Funny how no matter the point you are in your life there are these looming questions that hang over you. From the moment you find a guy there is the "when you getting married?". Then, "when you having kids?". Then, "when you have #2 or #3, etc?". Good grief - - I guess since I am 11 years married with two kids and done in that area my next question should be . . . "So, when you dropping dead?"!! Hee hee!
It doesn't bother me so much when family ask that question. It's the random stranger or acquaintance I encounter at the mall, in the office, etc. who ask such personal questions that get me. My husband and I waited 4 years after our son was born to have a second child, so we got lots of nosy questions in that period. Then, once our daughter was born, the presumptuous questioning shifted to, "So, now that you have one of each, are you done?" I find it incredible that people who either don't know me or barely know me think that is an appropriate question!
