My 11 month old seems to have lost her appetite since about a month ago. I'm still nursing her and don't plan to stop for a while yet but all of a sudden she will ONLY nurse. No baby food or solid food at all and I'm getting very worried. I even took her to the doctor and his advice didn't help much. Anyone else exerpeicne something similar? I am guessing it is a phase and will just pass but this has been going on for about a month now and I don't see any signs that she's going to eat anything other than milk anytime soon.
Oh, my goodness, me too! My daughter is just shy of 15 months now, but the first time she decided to stop eating we had no earthly idea what was going on. As it turns out, she was getting a tooth. But truly, she didn't eat for WEEKS before it broke through the skin, and then once it did, she went right back to eating normally. It has happened like that every time since, so when we notice that she's not eating the way she normally would, we chalk it up and wait for the tooth to break through...
What was strange, though, was that it didn't happen with her first two teeth; it started with the teeth after that.
And we try to always keep in mind that she won't starve herself -- so we keep offering her food and milk, and when she is hungry, she *will* eat!
When LO came home from the hospital he would not eat...it was literally drink or drowned buddy. We started out getting him to take 1 oz over 45 minutes and worked up. The thing that helped us was patience. Just stick with it and keep offering her food, and let her nurse when she wanted to. She will eventually come back around. My LO also went through a phase where he has a hard time eating when his teeth were coming in (they still have not broken through) and it is better now. And again we had to work with him, and he finally came around.
I guess it helps to know I'm not the only one.She gets so mad at me when I try to feed her anything and if I give her finger foods she mainly plays with it but then the minute she's out of her highchair she wants to nurse. I don't mind that of course but since she is almost a year old I fugure she needs other food. Has anyone used the Poly Vi Sol vitamin supplements when your LO's were having this problem? I almost bought some today. I have heard pros and cons about giving that vitamin supplement... anyone know anything about it?
