I know how you feel about wanting to find stuff to take her to so she can be around other babies. I'm a SAHM too, so I've been trying to get Will out around other little ones more often. I think he's kind of shy and doesn't really know how to react to other babies, since he's not in daycare either. There is a baby story time at the library on Wednesdays at 10:00 AM for babies birth to 23 months. They read stories, sing songs and do baby signs. They also have a bubble machine, which all the little ones love! We've been going every week and I really like it. There is also the Baby Talk program at UA on Tuesdays from 9:30 to 10:15. It is for children birth to 3 years. They have toys for all the babies to play together with. They also read stories and sing songs, like at the library. There is also a discussion time between the moms. I have only been to this one time (the week before last), but I really liked it, possibly even more that the library story time. I didn't get to go last week, but I plan to try to go every week. If I understood correctly it is an 8 week program, but I think they start a new one as soon as one ends. It just may be at a different time the next 8 weeks.

There's also baby social hour at CHOM on Wednesdays. But not free. Check the calendar for the time. I'd love to have a Tuscmoms baby social hour. I too am a SAHM and love when Jack is around other babies. Would anyone be interested in creating our own social hour?

Kristi- I am ALL for our own social hour/playdate once a week. I think there are alot of great places around Tuscaloosa where we could meet up and have some really fun activities for the littles ones and great socializing for the moms. Let me know if I can help in anyway in getting it started.

Kristi- Yes, I'd be interested too! NaudiasMom- The building it is in does not have a sign on it. But it is pretty easy to find. It's on 5th Ave just past the UA Medical Center. The building has a big blue clock on the front of it. Just go in the front door on the left side of the building and you'll see the sign for baby talk right in front of you. If you need more info or better directions, you can call Leslie Guy, the Baby Talk Coordinator, @ 205-348-2235.

OK, it looks like we have interest. I'll start a thread in the Meet Up Forum so we can start planning a Tuscmoms Baby Social Hour. Fun!!

Those are awesome ideas, and I am going to start checking out some of them. But something no one yet mentioned: There is also Kindermusik, at the Moody Music building at UA. We've been going since January (every so many weeks is a new class, and it is $100 or so for the "semester"), and my daughter LOVES it. (She is also not a daycare baby.) It starts, I think, at 6 months and goes all the way through elementary kids, in various classes. The teacher we've had, Laura Woolf, is downright fabulous. I highly recommend it!! Kindermusik is offered through the Community Music School at UA and I believe their URL is http://www.music.ua.edu/cms/summer/kindermusik/index.php
