Jack's mommy |
I'm wondering if it's time to get Jack a big boy toothbrush. I'm still using the Orajel finger thingy. He's always liked it but lately he's been fighting me because he's getting a tooth in and it hurts.
When did you get your LO a big boy toothbrush with actual toothpaste? ![]() |

Definitely get him one Kristi - he'll love it!
We never did the finger brush thing with Amelia. We got her a normal toddler brush as soon as she got her first tooth (granted, that wasn't until 11 months). She has the one - I can't remember if it's gerber or oragel or what - but it has baby einstein on it, and it comes with the baby safe flouride free toothpaste. I would use that flouride free stuff (it also comes in a big tube with Little Bear on it) until at least 3 (that's how long Anabelle used it), or until they know not to swallow the paste. Anyway, I brush amelia's teeth for her (she has a whopping 6 now LOL), and then give her the brush and let her do it herself. She chews on it, rubs it on the parts of her gums that hurt (I think it must feel good), and then I take it away. She has a lot of fun with it though. |

I got Ronald one at about 11 months old. He is just now loving it though. We had to make it a game. I sing and play it up when I start so he will enjoy it. I brush a little first to be sure and get all 16 of his teeth clean, then I let him try and chew for a minute. I would definitely do the flouride-free gel. I think ours is apple flavored. He loves it now!
