There seem to lots of mysterious "fever viruses" going around (I had never heard that term before, but many people have been referring to it as that lately).

Basically it's a fever with no other symtpoms.

Anabelle, my oldest, hardly ever runs a fever. I count on one hand the number of times she has had one. She was sent home from daycare one day last week b/c she had a fever of 101. It cropped up out of nowhere after naptime.

By the time I got her home, it was 103 - VERY odd for her. She was acting fine, other than obviously flushed . So, I just watched her. I didn't treat it for the afternoon since she wasn't in pain, and I wanted the fever to do its job (fighting whatever it was fighting), but I did give her tylenol before bed.

Woke up with no fever and it never came back.

WEIRD.

I think something is going around.

I hope everyone's LOs get to feeling better.

A couple of months ago, my 3yo had a fever for about a half a day and one night and never had any other symptoms. It was when the flu was going around so bad and I was sure it was the start of something awful, and it just went away as suddenly as it had come on.

How is everyone feeling tonight?

My 8 month old had a fever a few weeks ago. She is normally playful but that day all she did was sleep with me. I checked her temp. and it was 103. I gave her motrin and checked it again a few hours later and it was 104. We took her to the doctor and they said it was just a "spring virus". They gave her tylenol about an hour after I had given her motrin and in no time her fever was practically gone. She still continued to run a fever the next day but she was fine with the medicine. A day later it was gone. It's weird but nothing else seemed wrong but a fever.

Well I hope she is feeling better now!!

My dd Alyssa had this a few months ago. She was 8 mts at the time. She had a really low grade fever one day and the next day we were rushing her to the peds office because it had jumped to 104. They did test and everything was neg. They said it was just a virus.

It was just wierd, no one else had been sick, and she has 2 older brothers, one who is kindergarden, and no one else got sick with this virus.
