How old was your LO's when you moved them out of the crib into a toddler bed? My LO is 13 months and I know that time is near. With my oldest we did it when he crawled out of his crib which was around 18 months but I want to do it sooner with my youngest but I dont want to do it too soon.

Mine was 2+, Holly. And he COULD climb out but didn't want to, so we figured we'd let him be a baby as long as we could!

I did my first two at 18 months and put them straight into a twin bed with rails. They had to have stools to climb up into them, but they loved it.
Could your LO make it off the bed and into your room inthe middle of the night if they needed to? If not, you might want to consider waiting just a little bit longer. That's just me though.

I say wait as long as you possibly can.

My oldest was 2 and 1/2 when we moved her, and we only did that b/c we needed the crib for my youngest. I would have left her there longer if not.

Amelia is 18 months, and I see her in her crib for at least another year.

You can always move them to a bed, but once you do it, there is no going back to the crib. I wouldn't rush it personally, unless you are in need of the crib for another reason.

same here, both boys were moved to toddler beds at 2.5 but thats because they had baby sisters/brothers on the way.

Our general rule around here is move when they start climbing out. So far none of ours have ever climbed out!

My son is still in a crib and he's going to be 3 in Sept. He can easily climb in and out but never does even though we keep the side rail down. We're holding off on buying him a bed until we move then we're going to skip the toddler bed and put him in a twin with rails.

However, my little girl moved out of the crib when she was 15 months b/c we needed it for our son. She was never a fan of the crib like he is.

My son's been in a bed for a year (and is 3.6), and he frequently tells me he misses his crib! I'm glad we let him stay in it as long as possible.
