I hope Jack doesn't take after me and have allergies. They are so annoying. Although I must say, moving south has helped me. I'm not as bad here. Smiler

We just found out last week our LO has pollen allergies like his mom. I suffer usually, and have been taking Zyrtec, but it is not working as well as I though it would. It only affects me this time of year when the pollen covers everything, and it is almost raining down. So I hope it will be the same for him.

So I noticed Jack has been sneezing lately. Not a ton. But enough for me to notice.
Did you go and have Ronald tested for allergies? What did they do? I remember getting tested years ago and they did the needles on me. They don't do that to LOs do they?

They can't do allergy tests on kids until they turn 2, so the ped just put Ronald on Zyrtec, and it has helped tremendously. I pretty much new it was allergies because of his symptoms, and the doc agreed. He had been sick for over a week, had watery eyes, was sneezing alot, and had no fever. I believe there is a test (questions) on WebMD that you can do to see if it is allergies or just a cold.

If it is just a few sneezed though, I wouldn't worry about it. If it gets worse you could call your ped and ask him. Ronald was sneezing, had a stuffy runny nose, and had eyes that wouldn't quit watering, and were matting up. It was terrible! It took about a week for him to get the full effect from the Zyrtec, but he is much better now. Now only his nose runs a little bit in the morning. The ped told me I will have to give him the Zyrtec until probably June though.

Kristi, Hayden has had really bad problems with allergies. He was put on Singular when he was 6 months old. He also uses Pulmacore to keep him from wheezing. I believe he got this from me. I have really bad allergies and asthma. When Hayden was 19 months the allergies flared back up. He started wheezing and when I did the breathing treatment they did not help. I took him to the doctors and they had me take him to the hospital to be admitted. He spent 3 days there and received breathing treatments every 4 hours. The doctors said the wheezing was due to his allergies. They did a allergy test on him at Tusc. Ears, Nose and Throat. They have to take blood. A good bit I think. His test came back the he was allergic to...Oak Trees, Pecan Trees, A Mold, cats and dogs. They now have him on Singular and Zyterc. He does a breathing treatment of Pulmacore twice a day. Hopefully he will outgrow them. Confused
