There are some good tips in here about keeping poisons away from your child. And it tells you the most popular things ingested by children under age 6. Helpful stuff.
The first thing I'm going to do when I move into my house next week is shop for cabinet locks. http://www.babycenter.com/0_poison-proofing-your-home_1...=1&articleId=1449081 ![]() |

I have magnetic cabinet locks all over my house. Not only on my kitchen and bath cabinets, but on my entertainment center to avoid all my DVD's being pulled out and scattered. They are awesome. I thought I wouldn't like needing the little release mechanism to open stuff, but we staged them all over so that one is always near by and we are totally used to it. In fact, my mother in law laughed at how we don't break stride in the kitchen at all, we just grap the magnet and open cabinets as quick as if there weren't any. Highly recommend them - got them at Babies-R-us - a little expensive but worth the money. There is also a way to "turn them off" if you should ever not need them one day.

So DH went and picked up the Safety 1st Cabinet & Door Latches.
Anyone using them? I hope they work well. Now he just has to install them. And I hope he does it this week, 'cause Jack's new favorite activity is opening kitchen cabinets and drawers. Ugh. ![]() |
