How do you tell if your child is lactose intolerant?
Would spitting up have something to do with that? My LO has always been a spitter upper, which I though would go away once he got off of formula. Well we have been having issues with what we though was a milk allergy (but it isnt per the skin test at the allergist) so we took him off of cows milk and put him on soy, well the spitting up stopped. Now since we know that he just has atopic dermatitis and it is not related to a cows milk allergy as we thought I tried giving him some cows milk the other day and he started spitting up again. Could he be lactose intolerant? If yall think he is can you get a lactose free organic milk, do they even make such a thing?? |

I would say, regardless of the diagnosis, if you notice a correlation between his drinking cow's milk and his spitting up, take him off the cow's milk. Organic Valley has a lactose-free milk, and I have seen it either at Manna or Publix, or maybe both.

I don't know what type of milk you're giving him (whole, 2%, etc.) but my daughter who has excema, and therefore the same allergic tendencies as your son, also had problems with milk when she was younger. When she would drink whole milk, it often made her sick, but once we switched her to 2%, she was fine.
