I had to get some "hard bottomed" shoes for my LO bcs he will be playing outside at school now (so sad) I got some size 4's, they matched the bottom of his feet but they wont go on his fluffy baby feet. I got some size 5 crocs but they fall off of him. I have him in size 6 sneakers that are WAY too large and he cant walk correctly in them, he drags his toes and it makes him fall down. What are the best kind of shoes to get with hard bottoms (and wide) for beginners? And where do I get them, there arent many store that sells a large selection of shoes for babies...

Riverchase galleria in birmingham has an actual stride rite store (we just got some there on Saturday).

In town, Belk carries Stride Rites, and so does Dillards (but they are closing).

You can also try Twinkle Toes in Northport - they are a kids' shoe store. They have stride rites, and a bunch of other brands.

Have you ever bought Robeez? I loved them for both my girls before they started walking, and they now sell harder soled shoes for walkers as well. REALLY cute. We almost bought a pair of those.

We have problems getting my LO shoes too because he has a high arch and fat foot (got that from momma and I can't find shoes either lol). I had him measured for Stride Rites and he needs an extra wide but I have to order them from stride rites' website because it's hard to find them in the stores.

See Kai Run is my new favorite brand of the moment.

I also really love squeaky shoes on new walkers. I have ordered from www.squeakyshoemom.com a few times. They are cheaper than the ones sold in local boutiques and awesome quality.

We went to Twinkle Toes for Jack's first pairs of shoes. And they were great. They have a good selection and they're very friendly. It was so sweet watching him get measured! Of course I took tons of pics. I remember it being a bit pricey but we had a great experience.
Since, we've just kind of gotten them wherever we see them. No real strategy. LOL.

I just need to find some in a narrow. We are figuring out, her shoes aren't too big, she just has a narrow foot!

Will almost never wears shoes, but I guess that's OK since he's not walking. When it was cold out I used to put socks on him, although he would usually just pull them off and chew on them. Now he usually only wears shoes if we are going to church.

Our problem isn't finding shoes it's the socks. I've bought a coupe different packs of socks recently at Wal-mart and Target. I think they are size 6 to 18 months or something like that. Anyway, they are all too tight and leave marks in his legs. I guess I'll try the next size up, but they will probably be so long they will come up past his knees!
