As I just looked at the calendar I just realized that my baby is going to turn 11 months old next wednesday!!! He is almost a year old and I gotta start planning his first birthday party! I will just have family over but any ideas on how to make it super special for him? Ya know, other than the fact that he gets to eat his own pc of cake by himself. Also, any ideas on a good fun place to have it? I know that UCP opened a play ground area that is REALLY nice but you cant rent the entire thing out and it may be too crowded with other people to have it there.

On that note...everyone should go check it out, it is small and fenced in so you can pretty much sit back and let your kids run wild without having to worry about them running off.

That's so exciting! Jack turned 1 in November and it was so fun planning his party. We rented out the lodge in the apartment complex where we were living and lots of family flew in. We had a Red Sox theme since his daddy is a huge fan. And, yes, the smash cake is so much fun!

Check out the "Activities" section. There are a few different threads in there by moms asking advice about 1st birthday parties. Maybe you'll get some ideas.
