Jack's mommy |
So Jack will be 19 months old on Saturday. And my pedi said yesterday we can start the process of potty training.
Really? I feel like he's too young to get it. But lately he has told me "poop" when he actually had a poop in his diaper. Sometimes it's a false alarm. But sometimes he's right. My pedi said these are signs he's nearly ready. I was just surprised. My nephew will be 4 in January and still isn't potty trained. So I guess I thought this was a ways off for us. But maybe I should buy the little potty and start getting him used to it. ![]() |

It wouldn't hurt to go ahead and get a potty, especially if he is showing signs. Everyone potty trains at a different age, and he may pick it up quicker. Think of all the money you would save in diapers! There's a motivation for ya!

Kristi,if he is showing signs of readiness and awareness, I'd say go for it. My son was trained at 21 months and my daughter at 19 1/2 months, both without much hassle or fanfare. You will probably very surprised at what he'll do when given the opportunity to use his own little potty.
