HollyAnn, it sounds like he very close! Both of mine were right at 12 months when they started walking. I wouldn't worry - some don't walk until well after their first birthdays. They're all different and surely he's not the only 11 month old not walking!

HollyAnn, it does sound like he's close. I think any day now he'll just do it and your mouth will drop. Jack was taking 5-10 steps at 11 months and started officially walking at 12 months. My niece just started crawling at 14 months. My brother never crawled and walked at 9 months. I crawled for ever and didn't walk until 18 months. I think it's all normal and your LO will do it when he's good and ready. Don't worry!

HollyAnn, As with any developmental milestone, there is a wide range of "normal." I believe the typical range for walking according to developmental experts is 11-14 months, though there are lots of normal variations. Some children walk earlier, and many walk later. Your lo is exhibiting many of the precursors for walking. The most important thing is that he is exploring his environment through movement (crawling, cruising, pulling up, etc.).
It's probably just around the corner!! Then, your whole world will change!!

Alec was 13 months old when he started walking, and only started crawling on hands and knees at 12 months. Your son does sound close, though.
