Jack's mommy |
Did anyone see the Jon & Kate Plus 8 show where the aunt gave all the 2 year olds gum and the mom flipped out? I think we discussed that episode a while back in Pop Culture.
Anyway, I was chewing gum the other day and Jack wanted some. Of course I didn't give him any. But it got me wondering...what is the appropriate age to give a child gum? Anyone know? ![]() |

I'm not sure what age is appropriate. Anabelle chews gum - she's 4 and 1/2. It's always sugarless.
Amelia gets little baby pieces if she sees us eating some since she gets jealous - she's almost 20 months. We give her teeny enough pieces so that if she swallows it isn't a big deal. Even at her age, though, she has learned to chew it and not swallow it, so I don't really mind her having it once in a while. That is one of those things I really thought I would never give my kids this young - but for some reason it doesn't bother me anymore. |
