Do you order your child food at the local fair? If so, here is what you are getting (according to Parents Mag):

*Funnel cake: 760 calories, 44 grams of fat

*Cinnamon roll: 730 calories, 24 grams of fat

*Cheesecake on a stick: 655 calories, 47 grams of fat

*Fried Snickers: 444 calories, 29 grams of fat

Just a minute - fried Snickers? Seriously? Has anyone ever had this? I've seen it frozen...but FRIED??

How would you even fry a snickers without the chocolate melting off? They are talking about a snickers bar right? I have not even heard of a cheesecake on a stick. All I know is when I do eat one of the funnel cakes I end up with a stomache ache for the rest of the night.

Yummmmm ... I love fair food!!!

Seriously - it's like a once a year thing, so I don't worry about the calories or fat.

Fried snickers - i've never had one, but I've seen them. They have fried snickers, fried oreos, fried twinkies. They are supposed to be REALLY yummy. I've seen them featured on the food network before.

My personal favorite is funnel cakes - I can't go to a fair without one of those or a candy apple. Or both :-)

I love fried dough with all the powdery sugar on top. And I feel no guilt eating it since, like you said moozle, it's only once a year (if that!).

But fried Snickers....I don't know....

I still dont understand how you can fry anything with a coating of chocolate on it without the chocolate melting off. Do they put some sort of batter on it first?

I'm pretty sure the grease is so hot it cooks it instantly before the chocolate can melt.

I actually saw a story about this on the Food Network. They dip them in a batter kind of like what they use to make funnel cakes - so it's sweet. They also did Twix and something else - maybe 3 Musketeers or Milky Way.

It may be bad for you but I think that would be interesting to try.
