An article in Family Circle maggie this month suggests the following whole grain breakfasts for your kids. According to the article, foods with whole grains help prevent diseases such as diabetes. Look for "whole wheat" or "whole oats" up high on the ingredients list. Your chil'd daily requirement of whole grains should be 48 grams.
Some whole grain breakfast ideas: Thomas' Hearty Grains 100% Whole Wheat English Muffins ($3.59): 22 grams of whole grains. The 5 grams of fiber per muffin will also aid digestion Bob's Red Mill Buttermilk Pancake Mix ($3.99): 30 grams of whole grains, more than two-thirds of your child's daily requirement EnviroKidz Koala Choco Waffles ($4.39): 16 grams of whole grains.
