I read a story in the Tuscaloosa News earlier this week about moms who post their ultrasounds online and the pros and cons of doing so. What really struck me was a paragraph near the end:

"A friend of Bouffard's once noticed that a photo she had posted of her daughter coming out of a bathtub, which she had uploaded to a photo-sharing site, had gotten hundreds of hits while a photo of her daughter fully clothed got only a handful. The friend was made aware of the "creeps" one might attract by innocently sharing baby photos, Bouffard says."

It's just a useful reminder that we should be careful what we post. I know Kristi has some guidelines that may be useful to review. Sad as it is, you probably need to assume that creeps and pervs are drawn to any website that features kids. So be careful what information you post about your LOs. If it's personal information you wouldn't want your kids sharing online, be cautious about posting it here b/c, unfortunately, anyone could be checking it out.

Now I can sleep soundly again!

Thanks for the reminder, TT. I often wonder why we have such a need to post so many pictures of our LOs on public forums, anyway. And that "we" does include me, too, by the way.

Distracted, what is up with your ever-changing forum name???

Ignore this one, LawMommy - it's just part of a little protest-type thing we're doing on the general forum (you know, in response to the problem some folks have with Obama's middle name?).
I really feel like it's kinda out of place here, but I don't know how to change it back without also changing my name on the general forum.
So excuse me for now - I promise it will be just "distracted" again in no time!
