Wondering what all those acronyms mean that moms use in their posts? Use this for reference.

AF- Aunt Flo(w), your period
AP- Attachment parenting
BBT- Basal body temperature
BD - Baby dance (sex)
BF - Boy friend/best friend/breast feeding
BFN - Big fat negative
BFP - Big fat positive
BIL - Brother in law
BMS - Baby-making sex
BTW - By the way
CIO- Cry it out
DD/DS - Dear (dearest, darling) daughter/son
DH - Dear (dearest, darling) husband
DSS - Dear step son
DSD - Dear step daughter
DTD - Doing the dance, sex
EBF- Exclusively breast feeding
EC- Elimination communication (or infant potty training)
EFF- Exclusively formula feeding
FAK- Feeding at keyboard
FF- Formula feeding
FIL - Father in law
FWIW - For what it's worth
FYI – For your information
GF - Girl friend
GMTA- Great minds think alike
HPT - Home pregnancy test
HTH - Hope that helps
IMHO - In my humble opinion
IMNSHO - In my not so humble opinion
IMO - In my opinion
IRL - In real life
LMP - Last menstrual period
LO- Little one
LOL - Laugh out loud
LSHIPIMP - Laughing so hard I peed in my pants
LSHMBB - Laughing so hard my belly is bouncing
LSHMBH - Laughing so hard my belly hurts
M/C - Miscarriage
MIL - Mother in law
MWAH – means a kiss (as in the sound it makes)
NAK- Nursing at keyboard
OPK - Ovulation predictor kit
OTOH - On the other hand
PCOS – Polycystic ovarian syndrome
PG - Pregnancy, pregnant
POAS – Pee on a stick
ROTFL - Rolling on the floor laughing
PG - Pregnant
SAHM- Stay at home mom
SIL - Sister in law
SO - Significant other
TIA - Thanks in advance
TMI- Too much information
TOBPS - Tired of Being Pregnant Syndrome
TTC - Trying to conceive
TTYL - Talk to you later
U/S - Ultrasound
WBV- Well baby visit

I have to laugh, I had no clue there were so many of these. Working in the school system they have tons of these too. It's like that commercial about texting where the mom is scolding the daughter about her text use and she says something like, "IDK, my BFF Jill". I predict that someday spelling in schools will prove to be a confusing task! Thanks for listing these! IRNT - - or, I Really Needed That! hee hee.

Those are great. I had NO clue. I heard one you can add. While I was in the gyn. office I overheard a VERY pregant mom say "the nurse told me I had TOBPS". Her husband asked her what that meant and she said "Tried of Being Pregnant Syndrome". I thought that was great! I would definintely say I had that with my youngest.
