So what did you all do for Mother's Day, ladies? Please share how you celebrated your day!
I'll start. Well, I had the pleasure of getting a virus this Mother's Day. Came down with it Friday night and had it up until today. It's almost gone now, except for a sore throat. But it made me not want to go anywhere or do anything today because I was feeling weak. But you know what, my family found a way to make the day special for me right here at home. I slept in and woke up to my son handing me a stuffed monkey (I call him my little monkey now because he climbs on everything). My DH made a big breakfast of french toast and we ate outside on the patio with Jack. I sat on the patio and read the paper and watched my hubby and son playing in the yard. We took a nice walk through the neighborhood with Jack in his little buggy. Other than that, we just puttered around the house. Pretty tame. But nice. OH, and I almost forgot my wonderful gift! Inside my Mother's Day card was a pair of tickets -- 6th row seats to see Tim McGraw Thursday night! Woo hoo!! And the hubby set up a babysitter too. Gotta love it. I hope you all had a fantastic day! ![]() ![]() |

I had the best Mother's Day of all the ones I have had. After church we had a picnic at Riverwalk, then went to Coldstone. We went to Lowe's and the kids picked out flowers to help me plant. Both boys told me happy mother's day on their own. My oldest made me a flowerpot out of an old shoe and the sweetest handprint card at school. They all behaved well today and I got to spend time with just my kids and not the rest of the neighborhood.

I had a really nice Mother's Day too. I got to sleep in, and then we went to a nice breakfast at Cracker Barrell.
Then we came home and just lounged around the house playing and goofing off and being silly all day. It was so much fun. My oldest and I played outside looking for worms and her riding her bike while my little one napped, and then we all just played the rest of the day. I got a really pretty necklace from my girls, and Anabelle made me a bracelet at school and Amelia made me a bookmark with her footprint. All in all, a really nice day. |

I had a nice day. Went to church with DH's grandma and family, then to lunch. Then we all took a much needed and deserved nap. The we ate dinner and went to bed.(short story version LOL) I got a nice turqoise (spelling?) pendant from DH and a couple of beautiful cards.
Kristi, I forgot to get a newspaper yesterday. Can you post a copy of your column on here? I would love to read it. |

I had a great Mother's Day! (Yea - finally!)
We woke up and DH started breakfast while I got the roast started that we were having for lunch. After breakfast we all just chilled and I got to read the paper without interuptions - which was a miracle! Oh - and great column Kristi! Everyone was at our house for lunch and then I got to watch my grandmother make her famous German Coffee Cake with my kids helping her. It was just one of those priceless moments. She was talking about how she got the recipe (from her grandmother who immigrated from Czechoslovakia) and how she used to make it with her mom when she was little....it was just amazing! I took a lot of great video and pictures! We also went to Circuit City to pick up a new memory card for my new camera - thank you DH!! All in all a good day! |

I had a wonderful mother's day weekend. DH and I left for Montgomery on saturday morning after dropping Olivia off at my parents house. We checked into our hotel, got dressed up and went out to dinner at Caraba's. After dinner we went to the Alabama Shakespeare Festival. We had some time before our play so we took a walk by one of the lakes then We saw Romeo and Juliet. On Mother's Day We slept late, had a small breakfast, checked out of our hotel and went over to walk around the state capital building. Everything is closed on sunday so we had the place to ourselves. We had brunch at a jazz club downtown. After brunch we went to the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts and then to another play, Rocket City. We arrived back at home at 6:00 and spent the rest of the evening playing with olivia. We missed her alot while we were gone, but we had a blast and really enjoyed our weekend away.
