Kristi, sorry you had such a challenging day. I hope that Jack gets back on track. Yes, I do have a great hubby, I am very blessed!

My baby is growing up so fast, she is 6 months old today! I can't even believe it! The time passed so fast it seems like just yesterday I was in labor and anxiously awaiting the arrival of our princess. Even more than I can't believe she is 6 moths old I can't believe that in this same amount of time she will be 1. WOW where does the time go? It seems like just yesterday she was so dependent on Mommy and Daddy and now she can sit on her own (sometimes), hold her own bottle, make noises, laugh, scream, and has developed her own little personality.

We are working on a schedule for Ashtyn and last night she didn't take a bottle through the night. She hasn't done that since she was about 2 months but over the last week and a half the no sleep bug bit my baby. It was insane she would wake up twice between 12-8 to eat. We aren't use to that around here seeing as how she has always been such a great sleeper. Anyway, she took her last bottle around midnight and didn't take another until 6:45 WOO HOO! I am so excited. She didn't go to sleep until 2:45 but I am not complaining, I just hope she can stay on her schedule we created it seemed to have worked good yesterday. We shall see.

Last one, I am looking forward to tonight when my hubby promised me a long bath and a massage. Boy do I need it! I have been really stressed. Also we are going on vacation in a few days and my hubby will have 14 days off work. I am so excited to spend some qt with the family. My parents and Godmother are going too, it will be tons of fun!

Sorry so long ladies!

They do grow up fast. I catch myself staring at Jack in wonder when he talks or does something so grown up. This morning he was singing his ABCs to himself in his crib. Where did my baby go?

Ashley, I hope you got that massage and bath. Sounds wonderful. I love my bathtub and try to get a good soak in once a week. It's amazing how good I feel afterward.

Well today I promised Jack a fun day since I've been working for two days straight and we haven't done much. Once I hand in this article I've been writing, I will be free to spend some quality time with my little man. I think we'll go to the pool. And tomorrow we're taking a family trip to the zoo. Yay!

Kristi-it must have been something in the air about the tantrums. It was awful here too this week. Yesterday I caught a break but still, I cringe when I think about what these week has been. Let's hope our boys get it out of their system and move on from the tantrums early (it never hurts to wish).

Ashley-yes they do grow up so fast. It's such a conflict too. You kinda wish on one hand for them to do things like walk and talk yet when they do you get sad because you realize they're growing up. One good thing, they will always be our babies no matter what age they are.

So today I plan to investigate the source of the multiplying laundry. I can have everything washed, look in there later that day and poof, there is a ton more laundry to do. Where does it come from? Is there some magical bean it grows from in there. There are only three of us here unless the cats have taken to wearing our clothes. So yet again, laundry is on the list of things to do. Not to mention I have started yet another project. I'm laying new floor in the family area so naturally I'll have to paint also, then new fixtures, tossed the couch, lol. I have the best dh in the world. He doesn't kill me when I start new projects (that usually involve him because it is far more than I can do).
The hummingbirds are on a feeding frenzy. I'm putting out over 2 cups a day lately. I've counted over 8 birds at one time feeding yesterday. Nikolas enjoys watching them. He points to them and says "bird". So cute. We may have a future husband for Bindi the jungle girl since Nikolas the wild boy has no fear of any animal and loves them all.
Speaking of wild boy, he is terrorizing me now. Grabbing the mouse, punching the keys, playing with daddy's autotape making the measuring tape come right up to my face. So I must go tackle the monkey boy. Wish me luck.

ROTFL, PP!
Multiplying laundry in this house too. Monkey child as well.
I bought a hummingbird feeder and have yet to see one at it. My other bird feeder is usually busy though. I have a beautiful pair of cardinals living in my backyard that I love to watch. I finally spotted a hummingbird out back last week. So hopefully I'll see a bunch soon. I love birds. I try to point them out to Jack but he doesn't seem to interested. That's so cute that Nikolas says "bird."

I will start out with something funny that happened at my house this past weekend. I took my LO's clothes and diaper off before his bath as I always do and let him run around while I ran his bath water. When I was done I called his name and he came to me so I put him in the water. I noticed something floating off of him and I was like what is that. I turned around and saw a trail of poop leading out of my oldest sons room! I started to clean up the trail and as I went into my sons room (which BTW is Really messy, you cant even see the floor) I saw my oldest sitting on the floor playing candy land which has pee all on it and he was sitting on top of the poop pile! I was like blake....your sitting on poop....and I told him that his bro also peed on the candy land game that he was playing on and I dont think I EVER saw my oldest freak out as he did that night! It was devistating and funny all at the same time, I didnt know weather to laugh or cry! My oldest sure was crying though....and screaming like a girl! Stuff like that happens to me all of the time...what luck huh! BTW, I found that spray and wash will get stains out of carpet really well!

Now for the scary accident. Last night my LO fell face first (he is very clumsy) on our hard wood floor. When I picked him up there wa sa puddle of blood under his mouth and I started freaking out. At the time I though his tooth had went into his upper lip. It was DRAINING blood, so scary. I called everyone I knew plus the after hours of his ped. I tried to see into his mouth to look at the damage but he wouldnt let me and his lip had already swelled up. The bleeding finally stopped and my sister came over a we realized that his passy is the main thing that got jabbed into his lip and it kinda broke some of the skin on the inside of his upper lip, his tooth went into the other side. Well we gave him some motrin and he was a good as new about 30 min after it happened and this morn he is way better. I just dont know why he bled so much blood, that is what made me freak out, it was dripping out of his mouth! So scary!!! I have GOT to get that passy away from him!

Oh my HollyAnn, I know how scary that is when your LO is bleeding, wow. I'm so glad he's doing good today. Mouth and head wounds do bleed tremendously and are so very scary. And I must LOL plus shudder at your older one and the poop/pee incident. Yikes. I would have laughed at him too. On the bright side maybe this will encourage him to keep his room clean (never hurts to wish remember lol).

Kristi, yes our LO's seem to be right on track with each other lol. (so I won't tell you about all the climbing incidents we've been going through lately, including the one with him using a toy to stand on and climb on top of the car all the way to the roof). Let the games begin with these kids. And I love watching the birds too. I've counted about 8 hummingbirds at our feeder a few weeks ago, we're down to 4 regulars now. They are peculiar birds. We have two feeders but they all favor one and barely touch the other. I love to catch a sight of a woodpecker. I haven't seen many since moving here though.

We all got a haircut yesterday. For some reason, Nikolas is getting worse about getting his cut. He cryed and bucked the whole time. He's had it cut twice but never acted up like this. I think it was more about his shyness and having a "stranger" touching him. He is an extremely shy child and will barely look at people we meet much less let them touch him. But once he gets warmed up and relaxed to someone he pours on the charm. I have definite hair envy. I have very thick and very curly hair. I got it straighted with the flat iron yesterday and loved it. I am so jealous of straight hair. No tangles, I could run my fingers through it. It is way far too much work to iron it myself everyday considering the length and I lost my go-go-gadget arms years ago. Oh well.
On a good note, my LO has been so good lately. . Tantrums down to one a day. Plus he's been sleeping until 9:30 or later! woohoo. He has been so funny by copying everything we do (yikes..better start watching out). He was trying to rinse the dishes under water last night, stacked it in the drainer, took the basket strainer from the sink drain to the garbage and banged it out just like momma does, then tried to put it back in. lol. Now I realize I have to be conscious of everything I do because it is being taped and awaiting playback. Oh my.

MY MIND MOVED TO GUAM!! I was so proud of me yesterday, got done teaching (first day of school!!) and shot by the grochery store after work. I forgot my list!!!!!!! The proud part comes in that I remembered EVERYTHING on my list - woooooo hoooooooo!! So I got home and into mom mode, girls feed, homework (already!), reading time, bath, bed, etc. Got snuggled in and drifted off to PEACEFUL sleep! This morning got down to the car and there they were . . . . my grocheries!!!! Yep - totally forgot to bring them up from the car! So much for being "game on". Not a total loss, some stuff wasn't refrigerated, but alot was.

Today woke up with a mission to get my house back n shape after a weekend of me and the kid's not being here.. my DH does not clean up around here when he is alone. Well Needless to say tons of dishes in the sink and clothes everywhere. Well noticed a funny smell coming from the kitchen like stagnant water. Opened the dishwater and boom. it was full of stagnant water at the bottom. I did not think much of it at first since it has done this before. Just run it and it will drain. Well when I tried to run it, it did not start. OH NO. I have tons of dishes to do. So now I have to clean the house from top to bottom and wash dishes by hand. He is going to freak when he gets home and I suggest we go to Lowe's for a new dishwasher. Not to mention, it is 3 pm and I have not finihsed cleaning the house.

We certainly appreciate all the rain from Fay. Although it is officially a muddy mess here, every little drop helps. And it has given me a chance to dive ahead into my painting project. I only have two walls to finish. I can study over hundreds of swatches for weeks on end until I find the one I simply must have, slap it on the wall and think to myself "what the heck was I thinking". lol. I won't dismiss my color scheme just yet until I finish the complete look. It's just paint right (plus hours of my time which is so very valuable..lol).
Yet again this morning at 7am sharp these people who used to live in this area bring their son to the bus stop with their music thumping so loud it is infiltrating my house and endangering the sleep of my child. Why must people feel the need to force their music onto others. Anyhoo, I am at a loss to these people. They moved two years ago into a different school zone yet continue to bring their son here to stay in the school he was in. What's worse, last year the son was driving himself in and out hiding his car and I'm pretty sure he's in middle school. My patience is wearing thin for these former neighbors.
And now for the gruesome..last night my dh found a dead opossum in our dog's house. Can we all say ewwwwwwww. o.m.g. I cannot imagine. What's worse, dh found it because he was tracking the source of a very foul smell. Poor dogs. How random is that. Short of an autopsy, nobody has the stomach to investigate the cause of death.
On a lighter note, I am so loving this stage of toddler-hood. My lo is so sweet (most of the time although he has his moments). Yesterday he saw his shorts laying in the floor where we had just taken them off so he gets them and walks them to the laundry room and puts them on top of the washer. How great is this kid. lol.

I am so glad the weather here (at the beach) hasn't been as cruddy as it is at home. It is so beautiful here, we really have been lucky so far to have seen such awesome weather! Its so nice relaxing and having to do NOTHING! There are 6 adults (including myself) and Ashtyn so I haven't had to wake up early or do much of anything really. It is the best of both worlds, I get to have my baby girl with me yet I still get to relax and have vacation for myself.

Its back to reality in a few days and I am not so much looking forward to it.

We have lived in our house a little over a year and a half. Awile after moving in I noticed some strange looking plastic thingy in the bottom of our diswasher. I thought, oh great the dishwasher is already falling apart. We had no idea where the plastic thing came from, what it did, or how to put it back. So, I just hung onto it for a while, thinking that the dishwasher would eventually malfunction. A couple of months a go I was reorganizing the kitchen and finally threw the plastic thing away (hoping I would't regret doing so later). Will has used the same type of sippy cup for almost 6 months now. Recently I was in Target looking for a new hard-spout kind. That's when I finally figured out what the strange plastic thing in the bottom of the dishwasher was. It was a sippy cup valve! The people that lived in our house before us had 2 toddlers, so they must have left it behind. Now I feel kind of silly for holding onto the thing for over a year, waiting for my dishwasher to spring a leak or something! First-time parents really are cluless, huh?

LOL SM! Totally something I would do! Don't feel bad. And when our valves go into the bottom of the dishwasher, my DH still has no idea what it is. LOL.

One tired mommy over here today. I had an interview bright and early and didn't go to bed until late.
A nap would be nice. Hmmmmm. But I have too much to do. Ugh. Welcome back to the work week!

SM- That is sooo funny and definetely something I would do.

We had a pretty mellow weekend. I went to visit my brother and his wife in North Alabama on Saturday and the rest of the weekend I hung out at home. Olivia didn't feel to good most of the time so I had to give her alot of extra TLC, either allergies or a little summer cold. Luckily she is back to her usual self, because I was getting a little tired of being stuck in the house with an fussy baby. One bad thing is that she had an allergic reaction to Infant Advil. I had never given it to her before and I gave it to her on Sunday and Monday and she broke out in this awful rash with red blisters. At first it wasn't that bad and didn't think much of it since the rash was around her mouth and in her diaper area, but as I was putting up the medicine this afternoon it had PLEASE READ OUR NEW WARNINGS on the box in huge print so I read it and that was one of the signs of an allergic reactions. It is getting a little better but I am going to call her pediatrician in the morning. I am hoping they can call her in a prescription to help the rash go away faster.
