Ok, I have something totally random to say, which I guess is good since that's the whole point of this thread! I occasionally visit other mom forums. Has anyone noticed the ultra long signatures some moms have? They read something like this:
Sarah- APing, CDing, extended BFer, BFing while prego, non-vaxing, homeschooling, co-sleeping, baby wearing, extended rear-facing, gluten free, non-circing, home birthing, tree-hugging SAHM to 3 boys and 2 girls. I totally understand being proud of your parenting choices, but I'm just wondering if maybe it's turned into a contest to see who can be the best mom or have the longest signature or something! I did see one I really liked, though. It just said "labels are for food" |

Hah! SarahMay, that's hilarious. I don't visit other forums much, unless I'm searching for info on a specific topic, but I have seen some long signatures (maybe not that long - LOL)!

Sarah- that is sooo funny. I am a member of another forum and some ppl will get a little out of control about thier siggys. And yes I thinhk it's like ohhh look at me I'm super mommy for some of them. The only time its bugged me is when ppl kept using blinkies were they are obviously trying to make other moms feel bad...

Jack's mommy |
We're staying in all day today too LivisMom.
I could not get to sleep last night. I think I fell asleep close to 1. Then Jack, who usually sleeps through the night, woke up at 3 and 5 and finally 5:50. Ugh, ugh, ugh. I'm a zombie today. Maybe it's because he's been under the weather. Ashley, sorry about the drama. I hate when grown adults act childish and you just want to shake them. A few people come to mind for me too. KatieEm, WTG Emily on those steps! Try to get it on video and post it for us! She's such a cutie. Jack can't wait to play with her again. SarahMay, I agree. I love how respectful we all are on here. I've been on some forums that get downright nasty. And what good does that do? We've really built a great environment for local moms here and I'm so proud of us! OK, my son is throwing Cheerios at my head right now. Anyone have ANY ideas on how to stop him from throwing every morsel of food I give him? I'm all ears... ![]() |

Kristi- Sorry, no advice here! Will loves to throw his sippy cup or food down on the floor and yell "uh-oh!" He also throws his toys and goes "uh-oh!" Pretty much everything gets an "uh-oh," even if I make a noise setting something on the counter or a dish in the sink. He even says it when we cut a light on or off. Oh yeah, back to the food- A couple of times over the last few days, when I noticed him about to drop a piece of food on the floor, I said "Will, NO!" and held out my hand and he actually stopped and handed it to me.

That's great that Will listened to you!
Can he come over and teach Jack how to listen? ![]() |

Isn't the whole dropping things and watching mommy pick them up an age/stage appropriate part of when they start to learn cause and effect? Seems like I've read that, which always made me feel a little better about dealing with it.

My life consists of random thoughts so what the hay.
LawMommy, I thought the dropping things to watch mommy pick them up was just a male thing, age didn't matter. Kristi, the food throwing we went through. We just kept telling him "no" and it stopped. He still occasionally does it for the dramatic effect though. My issue is getting him to stay seated when we're eating. He is so big he doesn't fit anything so he's just sitting on a chair on top of a booster, but this little monkey-boy just takes off, randoming forking food off other's plates at will. I could say "no" till I pass out and he'd still do it. And we are super tired also. My LO woke up at 2:49 screaming and crying and it took 40 mins and a dose of Motrin to get him back down. I found out the cause this morning. He has his first cold apparently, coughing, running nose, sneezing. Wahhhh. I was so hoping to put off any illness until he was, ohhh say 40. Oh well, I've already started the chicken noodle soup today. boohoo. |
