Boy, they just keep coming and coming dont they!
http://www.tuscaloosanews.com/article/20080714/NEWS/383912184/0/dateline What do yall think about this one? Horrible huh? I am sad now, I ran out of stuff to do at work and decided to read the Tusc News online and I now wish I would not have, it is depressing to see how things are these days....uggggg! I don't know why people do these types of things! There are wonderful couples out there that cant have babies and some how people like this have them? Instead of her doing this bcs she may have not liked the baby or for whatever reason I wonder why she didnt just give it up for adoption. I bet she doesnt have a choice now though, I am sure they took the baby from her forever. Or at least I hope so. One thing is for sure I dont want to read the paper anymore, it has made me angry! |

While I agree that this is horrifying and unimaginable really, I still think we have to reserve judgment about what might have been behind the woman's actions. And I say woman, but look at her age, 19. Was this ignorance or truly malice? The article said she is from Guatemala. Many of the immigrants here from Guatemala do not speak English or Spanish but instead speak an indigenous language (such as Maya Quiche, among others), so I also would not assume that the police were able to communicate with her or were able to figure out accurately exactly what happened. Just because they say they're convinced it wasn't accidental doesn't mean that it wasn't.
She might be a monster...but she might not - I'm just saying we don't really know anything for sure except that the baby has some horrible injuries. |
