Hi all! My name is April. I would like to know if anyone else is interested in starting a local weekend mom's group. We can start meeting in public places until we all get to know each other. I have a almost 11 month old, and would like to know if any other mom's with young kids would like to meet up on Saturdays once or twice a month? I know that all of us (especially me) could use some good mom friends. I know several people already said they were interested on the other page, but please post again if you want to meet up on the weekend. I work during the week, so I would have to meet on weekends.

I'm game! I have an 11 month old also, and I have a 3 and 1/2 year old.
Chuck E Cheese is always a good meet-up spot, or CHOM. Or, let's see ...there is always the new starbucks in Midtown (not as baby friendly, but it's a nice place to meet and chat), or the fountain area of the mall (currently housing the train though), or one of the parks if the weather is ok. I love the park on 69N in Northport, right over the bridge. There are lots of others though.

I'd love to meet you all! My little Jack is 12 months old. Let's see if any more moms are interested in meeting on a Saturday and then we'll set a date, time and place. Looking forward to it!
Hello ladies, I am sort of new to this site. I've been reading postings but just now had a chance to log on. Can you imagine a stay at home mom of two not having time???? HA! I have a son who will be 4 in Jan. and a daughter who is 8 mos old. I am interested in meeting and letting our kids play. Being that my husband works 60+ hrs a week(seriously)and is in grad school (EMBA), the weekends are our family time, when he isnt studying. So if there are any moms who would like to meet during the week I'd be game for it.
Hi Angie! OK, click into "GO", then "Personal Zone" then "Profile" and then where it says "view/edit" and it will bring you to where you can post an avatar (small pic of Ben under your username) and also any type of custom signature you'd like to appear at the bottom of each message you post (I put up some blinkies I found online, some moms have their children and birthdays listed, etc). You can also type in a custom member title which is where mine says "Jack's mommy" above his photo. For your avatar, just hit browse and pull a pic of Ben off your computer. Our system will resize it for you. And voila! Looking forward to seeing Ben's face on here! Kristi
I can do it this Saturday. After that I'll be out of town until January. Do you ladies want to meet for a bit this weekend? I'm game! Where would be a good spot? Do you all have memberships to CHOM? The downstairs playroom is always fun for the babes. If it's a decent day we can all meet at the RiverWalk and stroll the babies. Any other ideas?
Oh, and for those of you who can't meet on a Saturday, feel free to start planning on the other thread I created for moms who want to meet up during the week!
I'd love to get together Saturday. I don't have a CHOM membership...I was waiting until Ben got a bit older to join. But, I don't mind paying the $7 to come play.
I just got an email from CHOM that there is a Global Holiday Celebration going on Saturday from 1:30 to 4. CHOM is only open Saturday for this event. There will be live music, crafts, Santa. We could go to that. $5 for members and $7 for non-members. Or it could be too crazy there to really talk. I think it's supposed to be in the 70s this weekend. Anyone up for a stroll along the RiverWalk?
I am good with Saturday, but it will have to be before 12 if I come. My hubby has a B-day next week, and we are going out on our first date in 8 months to celebrate!! WOOHOO!!! The riverwalk sounds great, though. Nothing like meeting new people and exercising at the same time.

Actually morning would be better for me too since we hope to get some Xmas shopping done Saturday. How about a morning stroll on the RiverWalk then? Jack usually goes down for his nap late morning so how about mid morning? Not sure what all of your nap schedules are like... Does 9:30 am work? I'm thinking sweatpants, sneakers, ponytail, coffee to go....anyone with me? Maybe we can start a SWOM group - Sweatpant-Wearin' Overcaffeinated Moms. LOL j/k
