Some moms in the Babies & Toddlers Forum expressed interest in a Tuscmoms Baby Social Hour.

Who wants to try to be a part of this? And if you do, answer these questions to help us get some focus. What should the age range of the babies be? Are afternoons or mornings better for you? Where should we meet?

Any and all ideas are welcome! Let the planning begin!

You can count me and Olivia (17 Months Old) in Smiler

Age Range- This is a tough one... We don't want to leave anyone out, but at the same time we want everyone participating to feel comfortable and happy. I would say after we see who all is interested we can better determine an age range.

Time- Mornings around 10:00

Location- Here are some ideas, sorry i dont have any specific locations Smiler
Coffee shops- Is there a coffee shop in tuscaloosa that has a private room or area we would meet in. The children could bring thier favorite toys to share and play and the moms could enjoy a morning coffee and some adult converstaion. The coffee shop would probably appreciate the additional business too.
Parks/Outdoor locations- We could meet up at a local park with a great playground. The only bad part about this is if your LO is as active as mine you'll spend the entire time chasing your child around vs. getting to talk with everyone and of course it would be VERY hot.

I'll keep thinking about ideas for a location. The big problem is most places would charge us to use a space each week.

I'm not sure about age range either. Especially since some moms that may want to come might have more than one kid, in different age groups. I think that even if we end up with a wide range of ages, there will probably be someone that each baby/child can play with.

Around 10 (or even 9) in the morning would be a good time, too. But I could do it other times too, depending on what time is best for everyone.

Hmmm, location- I've got to think more about that one too.

SM- I agree with what you said about the age ranges. At Church I have noticed that Olivia has just as much fun playing with a 3 year old as she does playing with a child her own age. I think as long as each mom makes thier children behave that it would work out fine.

I'm still thinking about locations, just not having alot of luck.

So who else is interested??? I am excited about us getting this started Smiler

I would be interested in coming also. Mornings around 9 or 10 would be good for me. I don't know about a location unless we want to have it at different peoples houses. I would be willing to have it at my house sometimes, but I am also ok with meeting somewhere. But I kind of feel like Livi's mom that I would just be chasing Alec around if we went to an outside place.

I guess we could take turns having it at each other's houses if that would work for everyone.

I can host the first one.
I have a fenced in backyard with a bunch of stuff that will keep the LOs happy -- swingset, sandbox, toys. And a patio where us moms can sit and chat and still watch them. For those whose LOs aren't walking, we can spread out blankets for them.
Does that work?
If it does, I'll PM you all my address and number.

Now we just need a date. Does Friday the 27th at 9:00 a.m. work for everyone?

Oh, I want to join in as well! This sounds wonderful!

Unfortunately, I am heading out of town Thursday, June 26. Frowner So if we do it before then, that would work ... or else, maybe next time.

Looking forward to meeting everyone, either way!

Kristi- that sounds wonderful. That date and time works perfect for me.

I love the idea of having a different host each time, but since I live way out on the Fayette/ Tuscaloosa county line I will not be able to have everyone at my house, well unless everyone wants to drive all the way out here. However I still want to host a meeting so I'll be thinking (and taking suggestions) of a location.

Kristi- I would also love to help with snacks for everyone at the meeting. Please PM me with all the info and what I need to do to help Smiler

That date and time works for me, too. But if other people can't make it then another day would be fine too.

Kristi- When you PM, let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

I wouldn't mind hosting one in the future, either... but I'm not sure how much I have to keep the toddlers entertained. We have a fenced back yard, but no swing set or sand box or anything else like that yet. And most all our toys are for babies.

Cool!
So...3 moms and 3 babies, right?
Anyone else?

And Boston Girl, so sorry you can't make it! Next time!

I'll PM you guys as the day gets closer. We'll come up with a plan for food/drink. We can keep it very simple. Coffee, juice, breakfast picky foods?

Great!

So...4 moms and 4 babies then.

What should we have to pick on?
I was thinking I could do blueberry muffins.
