OK ladies, it's time to commit! Please sign up here if you are definitely coming to the family picnic on Aug. 23rd at 4 p.m. at Shelby Park.
As it gets closer and I figure out the grill situation (or lack thereof) I can put up a snacks/drink/paper items list and we can all declare what we'll bring. If there's a grill perhaps we can all chip in for a big thing of hot dogs and hamburgers at Sam's. If there's no grill, perhaps we can all chip in for a foot long sub or something like that.
I might be lazy ... but even if there IS a grill, I vote for chipping in for subs, pizza, etc. It's just too hot to cook outside! I might be whining though :-)

moozle, LOL! Seriously, I'm all about making this easy breezy. I don't want it to feel like work. I don't want anyone to stress. I just want us all to hang out, eat some food and let the kids have a good time. So perhaps bringing pizzas or subs would be best. Then the guys don't have to sweat over a hot grill. I really don't remember seeing grills at Shelby anyway. So I think that's what we'll wind up doing.
I'm so excited! We have a great group so far! Anyone else?
Yay! I'm going to figure all this out this weekend. I'm going to take a ride over and scope out the scene and sit down and figure out a plan of attack for next weekend. Bear with me. I've been out of town until recently. But we'll get a plan in place very soon!
We are going to have a great group!! I am counting about 30 right now! Wowie!
OK. So here's the deal. Tuscmoms will provide burgers and hot dogs and soda. If there is anything else you'd like to bring as a side dish or dessert, feel free. But you are not required to bring food. Just bring yourselves and enjoy some social time with other families and kids! I think we should still have it at Shelby Park just because of the fountains. The kids will love that. There are bathrooms there as well. And my DH will bring a grill and do the food. If annyone else's DH wants to help out, they can. We have Bocce and some other fun outside games. GG, I called PARA and asked about plugs and there are plugs on the bathroom building. So if you wanted to bring that bouncy thing you certainly could. Sound good, all? So Shelby Park at 4 o'clock Saturday. I saw a weather forecast this morning that said rain Thurs. and Fri. and possible shower on Saturday. I just hope the weather is clear!
OK, update. I just heard back from PARA that there are NO electrical outlets there. So no bouncy thing.
Also, there is a Girl Scouts activity there from 10-6. I thought it was from 10-2. She said we're more than welcome to go there and find our own spot despite that activity. What do you guys think? Shelby still sound good to you?
