When Olivia was younger she had acid reflux and had to take medicine for it. Over time it went away and we were able to stop the medicine. I the last couple weeks i have started to see the symptoms again, then today Olivia woke up in the middle of her nap screaming and when i went to check on her she had the reflux coming out of her nose. I called the pediatrican and she is starting back on medicine. Anyone elses child have acid reflux?

jackson had acid reflux when he was just a couple months old but we would forget to give him his medicine in the evening times a lot(i know that sounds bad) but we noticed that he didn't show any signs that he was having problems so we just slowly weened him off the medicine and he hasn't had any probs w/ it since. another friends baby had it and they weened her off of her medicine and haven't had any probs. I hope jackson doesn't get it back. i'm sorry to hear that things are not working for your little one

No, we haven't had a problem with reflux. Sorry to here y'all are and I hope Olivia feels better.
I have a friend whose baby had problem with reflux when he was a newborn. They wedged a rolled up blanket under one end of his mattress so he could sleep at an angle and help keep the reflux down at night. My FIL also has reflux and put he bricks under the legs at the head of their bed to prop it up. He said it really helps. Anyway, you may already be doing something like that, but if not maybe it would help. |

My LO had it really bad when he was younger. He was on medication and hated every drop of it. After he got up and mobile I noticed his symptoms had decreased so we got him off his meds and he did great. We haven't had any more actual spitting up episodes. But I have noticed a very few times where he seemed to be having a reflux moment. Not enough to restart his meds though. I just do the general things like try to keep his head propped up when he sleeps.
I'm sorry Olivia's symptoms have returned. Hopefully it's just a fluke and they'll subside again. I know it's awful to see your child go through reflux. |
