The FDA has approved heartburn medication for kids age 1-11.
Do 1 year-olds get heartburn? And how do you know?

Unfortunately even a newborn can have heartburn. I know this because my nephew has had stage 3 reflux from birth. You find out they are having severe hearbearn because they can't keep down any food. I mean milk, baby food, almost everything wids up coming back up the way it went down. I felt so sorry for my nephew, becuase almost every time he ate, he ended being sick. The poor guy is 2 now, and he only started being able to eat whole table foods 6 months ago. He is also allergic to dairy products which only made matters worse. They didn't diagnose him until he was 6 months old. I don't know what I would do if I had been in their shoes.
