Wow!! There are a few years between your kids LOL! I couldn't imagine having a toddler, and one almost in college. Did you wait on purpose, or did it just kind of happen? I think my son will always be a big kid. In high school, my DH was already 6'1", and 200 pounds, so I don't think he has a choice in the matter. He is in 24 month old clothes, and looking at him, he looks like a 2 year old. He is the same size as our 2 year old nephew, and it is sooo funny to see them together, cause you would think they were twins... April-mommy to Ronald-1 year old

No, I didn't think I wanted anymore kids until about five years ago, when my husband and I both realized we'd changed our minds (my adorable nephew - who was born around that time - may have had something to do with that...). And it is kind of weird to have a preschooler and an older teen. It's kind of like I have two 'Onlies,' because they are so far apart. And your son does sound like he's going to be huge, which is never a bad thing for a boy. I hope y'all like football, though !

My first c-section was an emergency after laboring for 17 hrs., but I was happy to have it. The second one was planned. Both were bikini cuts, and they are much easier to recover from than a vertical incision. If you move a lot afterwards and don't overdo it on the second day, you'll feel really good on the third day. I felt so good on the second day after my first one, I really overdid and paid for it on the third day. I learned my lesson for the second one and it was a breeze.

I had a scheduled C-section at 38 weeks due to Olivia being breech. Because of the extreme position she was in I have a vertical incision vs. the standard bikini cut. I know this made some of my recovery process harder. I was able to get out of bed once the 1st day and then the next morning after my cathetur and IV came out I was able to get up and shower and move around with some assistance. I was in the hospital for 4 days and became more mobile each day. Olivia was in NICU for 8 days so i was forced to walk down to see her a couple times a day which really helped. I came home for the hospital 4 days before she did so I was able to get some added rest in between going to visit her which really helped. I wasn't in terrible pain, but I wasn't able to get around really good until the staples came out 10 days post-op. I had help scheduled for 2 weeks and after that i was back to my normal self. Overall I liked having a c-section and will probablly have one again.

My whole experience was so odd it's hard to say. I mean things that could go wrong did go wrong so it's hard to judge my c-section since I only have one child. It started by my blood pressure getting too high and it wouldn't lower so since I was far enough along (it was a week before my due date) and the baby was big enough my doc induced. I started having hard labor pains when they started the softening and that lasted all night for 12 hrs. Another complication forced them to hold off on the pitocin for awhile. I had to get an epidural early that morning just so they could do what they had to do and start the pitocin. More hard labor and pushing for what seemed like forever. Nothing was happening. That afternoon my temp spiked to over 103 so within minutes I was rushed to the o.r. for an emergency c-section. I had really bad tremors once they did the spinal block that lasted for hours (I was shaking so hard like I was freezing). I couldn't get up from bed without help because I was hooked to a million things and I felt awful not being able to be with my baby the whole time. When I got home my wound opened up and gushed a half gallon of fluid out (the docs told me this happens sometimes..gee thanks for the warning). Then a few weeks later right before Christmas I hemmorhaged a couple of times, the first time it stopped on it's own but the second time it wouldn't stop and I had to be rushed by ambulance and almost died. I had to beg my doctor to let me out of the hospital on Christmas eve night so I didn't miss my son's first Christmas. I still have no feeling in my lower stomach. But that was the "can happen but not common" things that can go wrong. I seem to be a medical oddity according to my doctor LOL. I don't regret having a c-section at all though even after all that. I think it all depends on the circumstances and what someone wants/has to do in order to have a healthy child.
