Around the time of Olivia's 1st birthday I started having some minor pain in my right side and lower back. The pain was a dull pain that would come and go. I thought it was back pain from carring around a 20lbs baby and all her gear. In March the pain kept getting worse and worse but I still just thought I had strained my back. Then the 1st weekend in April i found myself in terrible pain and had DH take me to the ER. After a couple test they discovered that my gallbladder wasn't functioning properly and needed to be removed. My doctor told me that this was a very common occurance in women after pregnancy. I am scheduled for laproscopic surgery next week. The doctor said I could expect to need 5-10 days to recover. Anyone else had this procedure?
I just thought i'd pop on and let everyone know I survived !!!! My surgery went according as planned today. I got to the surgical center at 12:00 and spent 1 hour in pre-op then went back in surgery. This was the first time i had been put to sleep and I have to say it was a strange feeling. I was pretty out of it for most of the afternoon. My parent's brought Olivia back to see me when i woke up and she reached down and gave me the biggest hug. It was sooo sweet. All the nurses and doctor were fussing over her so she had a blast. The doctor had prepared me to stay all night, but I had met all my discharge requirements by 8:00 p.m. so I was allowed to go home last night. So far I am doing good, just extremely sore. I am able to get around pretty good, just really slowly. DH is taking great care of me and all the grandparents are taking great care of Olivia.
Thanks Girls!!! I am feeling better but still extremely sore. DH, Olivia and I got out of the house this afternoon and went to Circuit City to buy his mom a digital picture frame for mother's day. It was good to get out of the house, but i paid for it this afternoon. I hope to be better soon i hate not being able to take care of Olivia.
Kristi- I feel alot better. I am getting around really good. Today it my first day on my own with Olivia and we are doing great. She took it easy on me and took a 3 hour nap. DH and I are heading out for our weekend away tomorrow so I'll get 2 more days of rest.
