I don't go to the mall much so when I need clothes for my boys I usually just get them online. I had no idea that Childrens Place was so CHEAP!! I dont know about the actual store but they have really great prices online, like shirts for $2 and such. I used to shop Old Navy for the deals but I am changing now!! I dont believe in buying expensive clothes for kids bcs they will just grow out of them in a few months and get them all stained up. What do ya'll think about buying clothes for babies/kids that are expensive / name brand??

I'm right there with you. If it's a special occasion I will spend more - but even then it's still on sale. They just grow so fast and I can't see spending a ton of money on clothes that will either get stained or ruined some other way.
Children's Place is great though. I don't mind spending $50 in there because you come out with so much stuff! When they have their Monster Sale it's great. I usually hit that each season and stock up for the next year. Especially if it's something that my LOs really liked or got good wear out of. |

I tend to buy a hodge-podge: Target, Children's Place, Old Navy (though I find their sizes run small), and my favorite of all, Gymboree. I know Gymboree is expensive, but I have found that if I am patient, watch for sales, and take advantage of Gymbucks, coupons, and email specials, I can do really well there without breaking the bank. I really like their quality and don't really ever pay full price!

Most of my daughters clothes come from Old Navy (I have gotten really good deals when ordering from them online but of course I do get the Old Navy bucks back and such also so that helps) with an occassional exception. Every now and then her Daddy will buy her an outfit from Wal mart if something catches his eye but most of her stuff is from Old Navy. She is an Old Navy baby (at least for now!)
I very rarely go to the mall either so I didn't know about Children's Place being cheap - I may have to go and check that out. Thanks! |

I never pay full price for anything either - my family calls me the sale/coupon queen!!
Children's Place has GREAT sales. I'm not a fan of their bigger kid stuff, but their baby stuff is precious and goes on SUCH cheap sales. It does go that price in store too, and they frequently do things like take 30% off the lowest price. I personally LOVE baby gap. My mom always tells me they are too expensive, but I've never paid full price their either. Especially the one in university mall - it's so tiny that they have to move their stuff out QUICKLY. I get bathing suits there for both girls under $6 usually, and I don't think I've ever paid more than $15 for one item there. I also love Old Navy, and Gymboree sometimes, depending on the sale. For my 4 year old though, Old Navy and Baby Gap are my faves. OH - and Target. SUPER cute stuff and it goes dirt cheap. I've also found it to wear just as well as the more pricey stuff - for grown ups as well as kids. Make sure to sign up on everyone's mailing list too - I just got coupons yesterday in the mail for both children's place and gymboree. Sorry - I could go on and on. I live for sales and good deals. |

I am terrible! If I like it enough, I'll buy it regardless!!!! I don't mind paying full price for my kids clothes. We get full use out of them. Jacob's are handed down to Alex. What survives both boys and Alyssa's things I sale at baby consignment sales.
I do love sales though, and that is what I generally shop. this is what happens to me. i walk by the store, see the sale, go in and check out the sale, browse the rest of the store and if I come across something cute enough I will buy it no matter what! I only go to the mall like once a month so its ok!! LOl Gymboree is my weakness along with baby gap. I quit shopping at old navy, I never find anything i like in there anymore. childrens place rocks! And hey, i don't know if they still are but gymboree was having their semi annual sale, tons of stuff $6.99 and under. I got like 5 tops and 2 sweater/jacket thingies for $40! Niki, wife to Thatcher, mommy to Jacob(5), Alex(3), and Alyssa(11mts) |

I love to see my son in cute clothes, and it's the only place I allow myself to splurge.
I never get myself anything new anymore & I pinch pennies everywhere I can. Except on my son's clothes. That might be because I grew up poor & suffered a lot because of the poor quality, outdated clothes I had to wear to school. Or it could just be because I love cute clothes. Whatever the reason, we buy most of our stuff at Children's Place, Gap Baby & Gymboree, some at Old Navy & a few things at Target. But it doesn't matter if it's on sale or not - if I think it's adorable, I'm getting it. I've bought him clothes out of fancy kids' catalogs, from that Bama store downtown and a few from that kids' store by Twinkle Toes. I think it's called Patiently Waiting. Anyway, I know I can pass it down to younger cousins and stuff when he's done, or have my dad sell it at a garage sale. So I don't worry. It's the one and only place where I refuse to cut corners. |

Olivia's clothing is definetely my weakness. She has soooo many clothes.
For special occassions like church/ family events/ parties I usually dress her in custom outfits that I have made or smocked outfits that have been purchased at boutiques like Patiently Waiting. For going out (like the park or shopping) clothes I buy all of Olivia's clothes at Gymboree. I love, love, love thier clothes and I have learned how to get good deals on them. I am a member of a site www.gymbofriends.com where I learn when the best sales are and I am able to resale her clothes after we use them. I usually get everything 50% off the regular price, then resale it for about 10% less than what I paid for it. For playclothes I usually shop at Target. I'll buy 10 tops and 10 bottoms and just mix and match. Shoes are my BIG weakness, I usually order all of her shoes online at places like Pedipeds, Seekairun, Beesqueaky and puddlejumpers. |

FYI.....Baby Gap in the University Mall is having a great sale. I went this morning, and moms were swarming the racks, so it might be picked over in the next few days. I got Ben some adorable Madras plaid hats for $.75 each, some shoes for $1.50, and some cute shirts and shorts all for under $5.
