Ok ladies - I know that some of you out there can give me advice on this one.

My 8 month old needs to be in a booster - he is too big for his carrier. Which means that my 4 1/2 year old needs to move up to a bigger booster to make room. If I didn't have to worry about 3 carseats fitting across the back seat of my Tahoe it would be no big deal.

What I'm not sure about is what kind to get. I would love to put the 4 1/2 year old in one that will convert to just the seat booster - but I haven't seen any that still have the 5 point harness. Any suggestions or ideas? I don't mind investing in something nice since the 2 1/2 year old sister will be using it eventually.

Are you looking for a car seat or a booster seat? How much does the child that needs a new seat weigh? Is he/she really tall?

I think if you still want a five point harness you might have to buy a convertible seat. We have one that morphs from a regular car seat to a backless booster.

I believe that the Britax car seats go up to 65 lbs. forward facing in a five point harness. But they are pretty $$$$ and some can be quite bulky.

I think you should check out www.carseatdata.org. They have some very helpful forums - one even specifically addresses fitting three car seats across.

Thank you so much! I'm going to check that out.

I thought of the Britax - but you're right - they are pricey and bulky. With having to fit three across I just don't think that would work.

I haven't weighed him lately - but I would say he's no more than 35 lbs. And I could be way off with that! (Bad mommy)

Thanks again for the link!

Check out the Eddie Bauer Deluxe 3-in-1 convertible carseat. We have one and the head rest raises up as the child grows. It is good until they are 100 lbs. I love mine!

GG - the Britax Regent is a booster (for Jonah) that is still 5 point harness.

We have both girls in the convertible britax marathons right now and I really like those, and they aren't near as bulky as the evenflow triumph convertible we have in the other car.

I THINK you could the britax regent in between the two others you have in there right now, but you'd want to measure to be sure. I don't know of any other boosters with the five point harness though ...
