Now they're saying plastic baby bottles are bad. Anyone hear this?
Anyone use glass baby bottles?

I used glass bottles with my first. I had a couple of plastic bottles that came with the breast pump, but otherwise, we used the glass ones. I would have used them again with my second, but my schedule had changed, and we never needed to use bottles with her.
It's interesting this is getting so much attention now - my son was born 7 1/2 years ago, and I chose glass because of concerns then about plastic, esepcially when heating it.

I don't use glass, but we use the Born Free sippy cups. A friend got us a "Kleen Kanteen," which is basically a cute little stainless steel sippy cup.

I was worried about the plastic bottles and bags that I used to pump and freeze, though the owner of our local BF supply (in another city) told me Medela products were BPA-free. I'm not sure if this is accurate, though. Anyone know?

There's always something to worry about!

I dond't know about Medela either, but that's the plastic bottles I had.
We all have Kleen Kanteen bottles we use to take water when we go places so we don't have to buy bottled water (and contribute to the throw-away plastic bottle problem) - I love mine.

Just found this - apparently Medela is BPA-free and always has been.

I have a Medela breast pump. When I was working I used it every week day. Now that I've quit to stay home with our baby, I only use it occasionally. Sometimes I'll go a couple of weeks without using it at all. When I do use it, I noticed that the bottles have a fairly strong plasticly / chemically smell similar to what a new pool float or shower curtain smells like. When I was using them more frequently they never smelt like this. Has anyone else noticed this? Should I be concerned? Maybe I just need to store them with the lid off so they can air out.

If it were me I'd probably not use the stinky ones anymore, but I'm biased, not a big fan of plastic. The fact that it sometimes stinks, stains easily and retains odors and tastes of things that have been in it previously make me strongly prefer glass. We use glass containers to store leftovers, etc. instead of plastic.
