It never ends. I just saw this one, and we have it! I was reluctant to let my daughter get this book in the first place, being generally against bringing more crappy plasticy junk into the house and considering all the lead recalls. Well, we have this and now I'm mad.

I want to hear presidential candidates talk about this! I remember Hilary talking about having trade prosecutors (or something like that) and banning items from certain factories and farms until we figure out sources and reasons for contaminants in our products and food. I don't know if that's even possible, but I'd like to hear the other candidates talk about the issue.
We had the Baby Einstein plush blocks that were recalled several months ago. Ironically, I selected those blocks because they had less paint and less colored plastic than any other baby blocks I had seen. |

The probably actually need to check more often for lead exposure. I think the guidlines are based on more household exposure, like chipping pait and the like. It's only been in the past couple of years, it seems, that the risk of toy lead exposure has been brought to the forefront and people realize it's an issue.
