My SIL told me about this and I am thinking of trying it out. It is a consignment sale that takes place twice a year. You have to be a member to sell/shop. She loves it and says she usually breaks even--buys as much as she sells. She says it is always good quality, cute stuff.
I've shopped at the Children's Closet sale but I haven't sold at it. There's another sale in town that is generally about the same time: Little Lambs at First Methodist downtown. I like shopping it better.
Let me tell ya - I LOVE the consignment thing. When my first was 6 months old I went to my first in my area. I got the most precious, name brand with tags on it stuff, for dollars. I dressed my little girl in GAP, Gymboree, Tommy, and even a few Strausburg dresses for a fraction of the real price. On average I would get my staples from these places, (i.e. jeans or shorts that were name brand in mint condition, 5 or 6 pairs for like $10 bucks.) I would get play shirts, 10 or 15 of them for dollars a piece. Then I would fill in with new shoes (always new shoes) and new undergarmets and other pieces and it made for a great wardrobe for fractional money. Sadly the place I have gone to for years stopped doing their sale and now I am on the search for another great one. I highly recommend going for a peak. Search for the ones in high income areas at churches and you'll find those gems for dollars - with tags on them!
WOW!!! Warning to those of you who haven't experienced this....it's a madhouse over there! But we got some good stuff. Designer clothes for cheap and a horse toy for the backyard and a booster seat and a fun little musical chair.... SCORE!!!
Oh, and I can attest to the fact that Ronaldsmom is alive and well because I saw her there! It was SO GREAT to meet you!!
My advice to you if you are going to this sale today or tomorrow - bring an umbrella stroller instead of a big bulky one b/c it's tough to maneuver through the aisles and around the many many moms there. And have patience. The lines are long. But everyone was in good spirits. Hey, us moms love a deal!!
Thanks, Kristi, it was great finally meeting you too!
Sorry I have been absent for a while. Work got crazy and then I got the flu, then my son got the flu, and so on... Let's just say February was a long month to say the least. We are all well and back to normal now though...Thank goodness. I missed talking to you guys though. Hopefully I can come here a little more.

Oh... Kristi is right about Little Lambs. It was crazy!!! Great...but crazy!!! I think I will stick to my yard sales from now on...not sooooo many people all clamoring for the same stuff. LOL! But everyone was very nice, and I got a few cute things.

Did anyone go to the Children's Closet sale? Looks like today is the last day if anyone is interested. It's in norhtport behind Northport Diner. Closes at 7pm. I think I will check it out on my way home.

Although I started this thread, I ended up NOT participating in Children's Closet. As it turned out, I just had too much stuff. I think I'll join up with SIL to have a yard sale. That way, I'll just have to get it out one time.
I did go to Little Lambs today. I wasn't expecting much to be left for 3T boys and I was right. I did get some stuff for my neice (6-8). And the price was right for a stroller upgrade.
