On Friday we took Jack to get his first pair of shoes at Twinkle Toes. And it was one of those times that you don't realize is special until it is happening. KWIM?
Our parents flew in for the weekend so they were able to go. My dad was buying the shoes as his first birthday present. I grabbed my camera as I was running out the door and I'm so glad I did.
I pictured just going in, picking out a pair of shoes, paying for them and leaving. But instead Jack was measured for his shoes, which was so cute. And the sales lady was so kind and nice. Then we picked through the rows and rows of shoes on the wall to find ones we liked and Jack tried them on.
Perhaps it's just me being sentimental because his grandparents miss so much of his life. But having them all helping him get his first pair of shoes was so sweet. And the measuring and trying on and all...it just got to me. I'm such a sap this week (first shoes, first birthday party, first BIRTHDAY!). LOL
That store was excellent. I'd recommend it.
