I have a 10 month old baby boy and he will not have anything to do with baby food anymore. I can handle what to feed him while he is at home I just give him whatever we are having. But I am in need of ideas of what to take to his day care for him to eat at lunch. I have to take stuff that is easy for them to heat up and disposable, I am currently taking the microwave chefboyardee meals but I hate taking them because they are not good for him and I prefer giving him organic foods. I would take cans of soup but he cannot finish an entire can and they will just throw what he doesnt eat away and that is wasteful, not to even mention the fact that it is not easy since they have to supply bowls. He doesnt like the Gerber Graduates meals, I have tried the organic ravioli pick ups and he will just mush them and never eat them. Help, I need ideas!

Can you just pack leftovers from dinner the night before?
Our daycare provides meals (the university program), but at 10 months my LO was getting things like chicken and rice, veggies, fruit, hamburgers, etc. Maybe just dice up some pieces of chicken and some veggies into chunks and send it in a ziplock? You could also make a grilled cheese in the morning and they can just heat it up or serve it room temp - and add a cup of mandarin oranges or other fruit. Yogurt is always good. Apples - peel them and cut them into chunks. Same with bananas. My LO also loves lunch meat, american cheese, string cheese. Just a few ideas! |

I agree with Moozle on the leftovers. If he likes it at home, just chop some up for him and send it to daycare.
My daycare also provides lunch. Fruits, meat, veggies, that sort of thing. Gerber makes some freeze dried yogurt melts and fruit bits that I started giving Ronald when he was about that age. He still loves them for a snack. As long as your LO is eating the puffs or smalls chunks of food without any trouble, he should do fine with either of these. If he likes veggies, they sell these great vegetables you can steam right in the bag. Since I work full-time, these veggies are a lifesaver for me. I can't think of the name though. My LO loves them, and they are easy to reheat. You could steam the whole bag one night before and have veggies for a few days for him to take with the rest of lunch. |
