Have any of you gone tanning? I did it once, right before my wedding. And it was a disaster. The girl didn't know what she was doing and sent us in for way too long. Because I had SPF in my lotion I came out OK. But my DH got really burned. Thankfully it was a few weeks before the wedding and not a few days! I would have married a lobster. LOL
I tanned for two weeks too before I got married. I told DH I couldn't be as white as my dress! LOL! Worked out ok for me, but I had a friend help me who had tanned a bunch. I haven't done it since, and don't think I will.
I think it's sad that girls think they have to be so tan now to be pretty. We all liked a tan in school, but it was how dark we wanted to be is mild compared to how tan girls are now. I have gotten several unintentional sunburns, and am now vigilant about sunscreen when I will be in the sun for more than half an hour. I hate sunburns!

I was a teen back in the 80s, and I spent hours out in the sun. With baby oil on !
I also frequented tanning beds back then .
I'm very dark-skinned, though, so I have never had a sunburn. But I haven't tanned in years, because I know the dangers. And I wish I hadn't tanned so much as a teen - I worry about skin cancer all the time now!
Needless to say - my LO doesn't step outside without a hat and sunscreen.

I LOVE it when I have some color to me - and if that means tanning, so be it. I wear sunscreen when I am outside and I have a tanning lotion with SPF in it though.
I DEFINITELY make sure that the LOs have sunscreen on too. They take after their fair skinned daddy - so it is a neccesity for them.

I love the color to GG!! I do the same as you and just wear a mild sunscreen to protect myself some and get a little color too when I am going to be outside. But let's face it, my outdoor time just isn't what it used to be, and I have spent the past several years whiter than a bedsheet. LOL!

I've done it and it always breaks me out. I don't know whether it's the exposure or the chemicals they clean the beds with, but I can't handle it. So now I just do Jergens 3-day rub on for some color and the real sun with protection on!
